Just a bully...

   “How about your next activity time?      David can handle it by himself – and I think we could do some more talking about what you already told me, alright?”

Staring to the ground in thought, he was contemplating about something. However, he quickly spoke up when he made up his mind, "Yeah, I think it can wait that long. We’ll talk more about the past then as well if you want. So with that settled... I guess I’ll see you later then, Gwen?" Clearly, if she meant now, Nurf might've misunderstood her meaning as he went back to just leaning up against the tree.

“Well actually I’ve got some supplies that we can take from my tent. Come on.” She said as she led the way over to her tent. She went inside quickly and extended her arm out towards the rest of the tent. “Tada!” There was a variety of charms hanging from the top, a couple of books spread around, an extra foam sword, and a backpack. Nerris crouched by the bed and felt underneath it to grab a few pouches of something before raising back up. “Mind grabbing the backpack?”

Examining the tent and then averting his eyes, he couldn’t help but think that this was some of the nerdier things he’s seen in his time. The old him would’ve kicked this shit down by now, but he resisted the urge. Instead, he’d stay silent to avoid saying something mean and just gave a nod after he crouched in from behind. Grabbing the backpack, he slung it over one of his shoulders as it wouldn’t fit him. “Alright, I got it. Is there anything else you need, Nerris?”

   “ I really can’t suggest much until I get a full psychoanalysis, Nurf.    But if you’re willing to we can do that soon to see what else can help?”

“Huh, well that shouldn’t be too hard considering: you, David, and even Max know a lot of my past and secrets already. That should probably save an hour at least when we discuss it, unless you want to go over it again. But yeah, I’m willing to do this, just name the time and place.”

   “Yeah , I can do that .       And I’m sure David is willing to do the same thing . But everything is going to be okay , Nurf. This is a start of a nice change and I believe you can do it.”

Judging by how surprised Nurf seemingly was, he didn't hear this kinda thing often, "You actually think... that I can do it? Wow... thanks, Gwen. But yeah! I'll ask David too sometime later. However with that all out of the way, what kind of solutions did you have in mind for right now? As you said you majored in psychology, right?"

   “Thanks , kid.        I’m glad that it’s helping! And… if your mom can’t won’t take you then maybe talk to the counselor at your school. If they can’t take you , maybe a teacher would? Or any relatives…   But trust me , it’s worth taking the effort to get the help.

Eyes averting as if remembering something, "I'll take your word for it, Gwen. But... I think I'll just try to settle with a school counselor, because I don't trust teachers. Family is another story though, so I digress, but with that in mind: perhaps there’s another way you could help me? As maybe my mom would take me if I got recommended by enough people for it?”

{ Gwen has a few secrets she’s been holding back from the others and herself – then some others that are best that the campers don’t know about for their sake }

“That’s fine. I could use some help with what I’ve got planned anyways.Well, I need to visit one of the deepest parts of the forest to get something I need to help with my spells. Though it can be a bit dangerous. So, before we head out, I need you to promise me that you won’t tell David about this trip, okay?”

He’d then present his hand for her to shake, “Let’s shake on it. But uh, shouldn’t we prepare or something? I could break into the camp’s storage supply.” If it was actually dangerous in the forest, then he figured that would be wise. His switchblade probably wasn't gonna do shit against a bear or something.

   “Nurf , that’s what I’m here before!      I’m going to do what I can to help. Put a use to my psychology major , you know? And if I can’t do anything to help – then I really suggest getting therapy. That’s the best thing to help you .”

"And uh, therapy is probably out of the question as my mom won't take me."

   “Oh Nurf, there’s plenty of ways to help with issues.        This isn’t… the best one. Nothing is worth getting addicted to bad shit like that.” She really couldn’t say much , but she was worried about Nurf. All that attempt to help only to have a smack put him in line – what else did it take to help him get on the right track.

Rubbing his head a little and sighing, “Gwen, I know... not my teachers, the school, the principal, the police, or even my own parents had the best answer either. Why else would I be here? It might not be the best one, but when an overprotective society or even family ties can’t resolve a ‘problem child’s’ issues? Then that’s when sometimes, you have to find one by yourself, because no one wants to deal with you at a certain point. Because their answer isn’t the one you need.”

   “ You know what , I don’t fucking want to know any details. It’s already a TMI warning. But you shouldn’t be smoking – here or anywhere. So I’m confiscating your pack. Hand it over , kid.”  She held her hand out , hand moving to her hip. She honestly wasn’t expecting Nurf to go this far…
