I have been overcome with unexplained fondness for Tenna, so I am rambling about head cannons about him and Bean in the Teacher Tenna AU. Au belongs to @justabeewithapen (hey dude! Hope you're well!)
Teacher Tenna and Bean general headcannons!
-So some of the things I'm about to ramble about I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before but Bean is obviously spoiled ROTTEN by Tenna! Being so small most of the stuff in the darkner world is too big for Bean to actually get any use from, but Tenna has seen to it that she has her own little wardrobe of clothes (including a matching red suit like his, a little sleep hat and various princess dresses cuz Bean likes dress up) and her own fancy little bed for when she has nap time. I can so see Tenna getting Bean one of those overly fancy beds, the type of bed that one would not assume was for a tiny kitten that could fit in Tenna's palm. Bean is having her daily naps in some fancy ass bed like from the Arisocats:
-Though Bean has her own bed, she will also in general nap anywhere, more so if Tenna is also there. Being a kids toy things such as nap time, story time and cuddle time are sacred things to Bean that she takes seriously with all the power of her two braincells. When it comes to nap time, she'll go right up to Tenna (if she's not already with him) and tap continuously on his leg until he acknowledges her to read her a bedtime story. Since Tenna is a busy man though I can see him coming to a compromise with Bean and letting her sleep in his pocket, or simply letting her nap in his hand while he goes about work
-So Tenna obviously has some hardcore abandonment issues, and naturally, that fear of abandonment has kind of bled into his bond with Bean. Because Bean is a little kid, she often toddles around after Tenna in the studio and is rarely not seen with him (aside from when she's napping), so even without the insane fear of abandonment Tenna is very attached to her. So when Bean does go missing, Tenna - rightfully - FREAKS out! Not only is Bean a little kid and tiny, she's also mute, so not only can she hide away in all manner of little nooks in the studio but she won't make a peep unless her bell jingles. Tenna gets very distressed when he feels like he's lost Bean, one of the few family he has that hasn't left him, and often results in a very tearful reunion on his part when he is eventually reunited with her. I like to think Tenna has brainstormed various methods to prevent Bean from getting lost before he eventually settled on giving her a bell, the successes of his methods are...debatable. Including but not limited to a time where he once attached a balloon to Bean to help keep track of her, except the balloon started to float away, while Bean was STILL attached to it (she was eventually rescued)
-Tenna baby talks to her, half the time he doesn't even realise he's started coeing at her and talking squeaky silly voice one does when talking to something cute, he just does it on autopilot. It's a 50/50 chance that Bean actually understands what he's saying half the time but she likes the attention regardless!
-Bean sometimes wanting to sleep on Tenna's pillow and Tenna at least tries to persuade Bean to sleep in her own bed, before relenting and carefully scooping her and placing her on the pillow. As most cats do, Bean often ends up sleeping ontop of Tenna in someway rather than besides him. Her favourite places to curl up are by his neck, on his shoulder, or most commonly, right across his face. Tenna never has the heart to move her
-Since Tenna can grow and shrink depending on his mood, Tenna growing all big and giant whenever he sees Bean rushing clumsily on her little feet towards him, bringing her up to his face where he can kiss her on her forehead. Bean learning that Tenna's nose makes for an excellent climbing bean when he's super tall, and Tenna letting her dangle from his nose (with his hands supported underneath her incase she falls) while trying not to chuckle. Bean seeing Tenna super small and though she doesn't understand the extent for why he's small, she does recognise the tears in his eyes and the sad slump to his shoulders, so she does the only thing a plush toy can do: hug him. She literally picks him up and hugs him, sometimes walking around and going about with whatever she was doing while holding Tenna until he feels better
-You know that thing where you tickle a kittens tummy and then pull your hand back and the kitten spreads its arms and legs out in surprise, Tenna doing that with Bean, it's his favourite pass time
-Angsty idea but Bean getting injured/broken in the lightner world, maybe the kids played too rough with her, or her stitchings just got damaged with age, but the thread on one of her arms breaks causing all the beads to run out. Toriel ties it up with a piece of string for the time being and plans to repair her the next time she's in work. In the darkner world, Tenna excitedly goes to greet his precious Bean, so imagine his shock, concern and utter horror when he finds Bean curled up in the far corner of her bed, shaking, with one of her arms completely limp and stuffing-less. Tenna trying to gently reach for Bean and his heart almost breaks when Bean flinches from his approaching hand. It takes many, many gentle promises that Bean is okay and that Tenna was only going to pick her up before Bean timidly curls into a ball in Tenna's hand, clinging to his thumb as he brings her close to his chest
-Bean goes home on the weekend with a different kid from Toriels classroom as a sort of fun activity for the kids, and during this time Tenna can't interact with Bean as she's no longer in the classroom. But it's fine, Tenna is fine, his baby is just out there in the big world and he has no idea if she's okay, if she's cold, if she's getting her cuddle time, or if whoever has her knows that if she can't sleep she likes to be rocked. He's fine. It's fine. Everything is fine. Why does everyone keep asking if he's okay? Doesn't he look okay?! Everytime Bean returns back to the classroom Tenna acts like his kid just got back from college
-Bean doesn't have thumbs so her attempts at arts and crafts are often messy, but she's got spirit! One day, I'm thinking with the help of one of the Mikes, Tenna crafts a little TV outfit out of cardboard tubes and a box to surprise Tenna with, colouring it in with crayons, paint and stickers (and putting some of the stickers on the Mikes too) and, of course, glitter. She even goes as far as to borrow one of Tenna's spare ties and a TV badge to add to her outfit, which makes Tenna burst into tears when he sees
-When he's not working, Tenna laying down on the floor of his office, kicking his legs back and forth, one hand holding his head while the other dangles the end of his tie over Bean watching her try to catch it between her paws
