I was listening to frieren song when my twin gave me an idea: mage Etho vs Pearl! There it is. Try watching the timelapse with the song "Knife to the throat"

This Kakashi looks so good. From what i can understand, he just woke up from coma then went on patrol/manhunt mission (hence the many gears but no backpack). Tsunade must be cracking her head trying to give him anbu missions with anbu grade equipments without pulling him into anbu.

Let me ramble my headcannon:

Kakashi also carry the short sword on his back. He didnt carry sword when he was expecting Kakuzu and Hidan, or any other high tier foes for that matter, so the sword mustn't be for fighting. He mainly played on stealth and assasination, which only need kunai and his literal hands. In anbu, you only carry sword when your mission was to leave a warning (the sword is commonly a katana, which leave gruesome damage, easier to move with, and good for cutting).

Anbu also carry sword when expecting a clash in other village territory to minimize the use of jutsu (Jutsus are hard to cover up and easy to identify. Ninjas could tell who you are just from the jutsu you use). The kind of sword Kakashi carry was likely not for combat, but for opening path and cutting stuff that can't be cut with kunai (it's common for military to use in dense forest area. Kakashi didnt use jutsu for that for health and stealth reasons). The konoha borders and forest must still be swarming with many foreign ninjas seeking intel and opportunities post konoha crush.

Tsunade is not familiar with new anbu protocols yet in her new position (she was special ops during war, but not post war and peaceful setting which is delicate with diplomatic maneuvers). Add to that anbu were severely hit in numbers during the konoha crush. Tsunade was forced to heavily rely on her jounins and chuunins.

He also missed the always restocked blocks in HC 🤣

My sis told me to print my life series etho on acrylic. It came out nice??? My bedroom lighting could be nicer tho.
