You see… if I dont pose any drawings of Hayato, Im still drawing him… its just… He's very red and I'm really unsure if I can pose that here. But at I can get my stalker atest how lovely red he is
Guys amazon is talking normally... this is so weird help, this is an imposter right!?
Today’s HC: Hongo has a lot of nightmares, which I think anyone would expect for someone in his situation. His nightmares are often related to Shocker, but also related to his friends. Like his friends telling him he’s a monster and being scared of him, including Taki and Tachibana. Then at the end there’s Hayaro, who acts very cold unlike the real Hayato and blames Hongo for his suffering, asking why he couldn’t save him? Then Hongo will wake up. Most nights he wakes up alone, but when Hayato happens to be in Japan or he’s traveling with him or something he feels a familiar pair of arms around him and his partner tells him “It’s okay. I’m right here.” And he’ll ask Hongo if he wants to talk about it. Usually Hongo will say no, and Hayato understands. So he’ll continue holding Hongo, stroking his hair soothingly, giving him forehead kisses, etc and they’ll fall asleep like that.
Also Hongo will apologize for “troubling” Hayato and Hayato will say “You’d do the same for me.”
I like that headcanon so much, I decided to write this small bite fic out of inspiration from it:
"Ouch! That hurts!" At the boy exclamation, Hongo quickly removed his hold over him.
The boy came with Ruriko and Hiromi, citing how his older sister got eaten by the ground. In an attempt to cheer the child, they went to his and his older sister's living arrangement to check if the boy's sister had arrived, and hopefully her being eaten was just an overactive imagination that children have. An unfortunate truth was given: the boy's testimony holds true, and Hongo suspects it to be SHOCKER Kaijin's doing.
To observe the surroundings, to hear facts from the child that he has no relatives but his older sister, to give an acknowledgement of the older sister's strength in raising her younger brother, to stand in as his mother and father, to abandon the simple role of an older sister just to raise her only family member right. Hongo swears to bring this child's sister back alive and SHOCKER down, so no more people can suffer at their hands. However...
"Ouch! That hurts!"
How can he say these resolves when Hongo should be wary of himself first? Hongo thought to give away his autonomy for the greater good. If he had been irrevocably changed into something he doesn't recognise, but can still do good with it, he'll accept it. But Hongo had forgotten; this body had been made by the hands of SHOCKER. He isn't human any longer; he's a machine made to do deeds unforgivable to any seeing eye. The difference between him and the others would be that his brain modification lacks loyalty to the evil organisation; however, he's still as monstrous as them. He---
"Hongo-san, how could you!" Ruriko shouted indignantly as she held the boy protectively.
"I-no... Ruriko-san--!" Hongo tried to approach but held himself back, afraid that he would hurt her, despite having no intention to do so.
However, Hiromi read Hongo's intentions off and got between him and Ruriko, shielding her best friend and the child away from Hongo's shy gaze.
"Don't come any closer!" Hiromi tremblingly demanded, her stance and glare screaming protectiveness despite how her body trembled in fear.
Hongo's robotic stomach churned unpleasantly. Hongo couldn't really find himself to defend. After all, they're right to be wary of him. He shouldn't be allowed to be near humans, especially fragile children.
"Get away from them!" Came a familiar, protective father voice shouted.
Hongo usually perk up hearing Tachibana's voice since the older man had watched over him after his parents' death. This time, Hongo could only feel undeniable horror hearing his voice, as the older man pushed him away from the girls and the child.
"Ah! Wait, Takeshi?!" Tachibana exclaimed in confused shock.
As the older man was about to spout apologies for misunderstanding the situation and help Hongo up from the ground, Ruriko spat the truth out.
"Don't, Master! He's a monster!" Ruriko held the boy tightly.
Tachibana looked conflicted at his employee’s words, “Ruriko, Takeshi isn’t a monster.”
“Yes, he is! He hurt me!” A boyish voice chimed in, the child in hand showed his bruised arms to Tachibana.
Tachibana's eyes shuttered, hurt at the sight of the bruises before closing them off and opening them to look coldly at Hongo, who had already gotten up from the ground.
“Oyaji—“
“—I should’ve known…” Tachibana interrupted before whatever Hongo could utter anything.
“I should’ve known you’re no longer the Takeshi I have looked over the years,” Hongo felt like his robotic heart beat out of programmed rhythm upon hearing such words from someone he cared for. Someone he looked up to.
Hongo, despite being a cyborg, a being of logic, was acting irrationally as he tried to take a step forward, desperate to explain himself to the older man. If he lose this familial relationship, then he'd be alone. He can't—!
*BANG! BANG!*
"Get away from them, Shocker!" Hongo stared at the bullets that shot to his feet.
"Taki?" Hongo shakily recognised his long-time friend. However, Taki wasn't wearing a friendly face but a hostile attitude, seeing Hongo as something else.
Everything is too much. Everything...everything was falling. This feels like a dream, but Hongo know this to be reality when everything—everyone reactions is reasonable. When everything holds truth. Hongo isn't safe around anyone. It's better to fight alone.
To...fight...alone...
"Hongo." His name being called out by this person shook Hongo Takeshi's soul.
Takeshi wants to melt or cry at such a gentle and warm call. Takeshi feels terribly selfish to have this man by his side.
"Why did you save me?" It's terrible to be alone. It's terrible that Takeshi is incredibly selfish when he saved Ichimonji Hayato.
It hurts badly when the younger man's tone holds no malice, only a soft curious tone that stabs Takeshi's consciousness.
"I'm sorry..." Takeshi can only say.
"Why did you save me?" Hayato repeated, and Takeshi could only repeat his apology as well.
Takeshi can only apologise for his selfish desire not to be alone on this hellish road. To be sorry for such a thing happened to Hayato and be happy that he is no longer alone.
Apologies ruminated in Hongo's head as he opened his eyes, his breath stilled to see his bedroom's grey ceiling.
A dream.
A terrible dream that Hongo absently reach out his connection to Hayato. Before Hongo realised it and take it back, Hayato had already noticed his selfish reaching.
"Hongo? What's wrong?"
"It's nothing, Ichimonji, just startled to accidentally contact you." Hongo uttered no lie; however, he can feel the younger man's concern for him despite his reassurance that nothing was wrong.
"Hongo..."
Hongo pursed his lips to hold back the truth he hadn't mentioned, but Hayato is a force that, despite not being in the same vicinity, Hongo still feels compelled to tell everything to the younger man. A charming point of Hayato that Hongo had already quickly noted upon their first meeting.
"It's just a dream I had," Hongo managed to say and it honestly felt like Hayato already knew what kind of dreams Hongo meant.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Hayato is tactful. Hongo admires that.
They both know that Hayato had already figured out what made the dream so startling for Hongo to call Hayato absentmindedly. However, Hayato is also great at making people comfortable with him. That includes Hongo.
"No..." Hongo's guilt shrivels to selfishness. It's relieving to be honest, as it's selfish to rely on Hayato's comfort.
"Okay..."
It's a painful short silence that Hongo shamefully hugs the connecting presence of Hayato in comfort.
"You know, I had a funny interaction with a kid today," Hayato began, likely picking up Hongo's deprecating thoughts and thought the best course of action would be distraction.
"...what kind of interaction?" Hongo honestly doesn't deserve him. For all of Hayato's patience.
"Well, I wanted to take a picture..."
By the time Hayato shared his adventures in Egypt, Hongo had forgotten about his dream. Typically, this is where Hongo apologises for bothering the other man, and Hayato assures that Hongo would've done the same for him if he had reached out. And frankly, Hongo wants to break that routine, since Hongo is pretty sure Hayato wouldn't appreciate this same song and dance. Which is why Hongo decided to start talking about a platypus to be coloured sea green.
Hongo was glad about his decision, considering he felt Hayato's pleasant surprise and delight at his ramblings. It's nice not to be alone.

Today’s HC: Hayato loves taking candid photos of Hongo every now and then, usually a pic of him doing something like watching the sunset or sniffing flowers or looking all focusing on his college work. Something mundane like that. He keeps the photos in a collection only for his own eyes. He’ll frequently look at them while traveling and giggle and kick his feet and maybe even twirl his hair. One day Hongo finds out and he’s like “What are these for?” (He’s a little bashful and has a goofy little smile) and Hayato is like “My exhibit for the most beautiful man in the world ;3 don’t worry, it’s for my eyes only.”
Oh, that's adorable. Does this mean Hongo will try to be aware of Hayato taking candid photos of him and try to get the younger man off guard by giving a handsome pretty smile that Hayato will still kick his feet and giggle at while looking at it? Small silly game who gets off guard now; Hayato with his hundreds of candid photos and Hongo trying to catch Hayato in the act and give a quick pose and silly face to catch Hayato off guard
In honour of pride month, today we are appreciating the trans-codedness of the showa riders. Especially ichigo and niigo!!
I mean just look at them,,
Aspects of the first Kamen riders' story that I really connect to as a trans person:
- having your body irreversibly changed beyond your control
- being pursued by a force intent on destroying you and everyone you love, despite them creating you (fucks sake you guys were the ones who made gender such an important aspect of society in the first place)
- being something seen as inherently dangerous, especially being kept away from children (the scene where the child finds out X is a cyborg and then instinctively fears him really got me)
But, so importantly, also:
- having the best people love and respect you and finding happiness anyway
- finding other people like you and being connected intrinsically by your shared experience
- never stopping the fight against the forces that want you gone, no matter what new form they turn up in
Tbh living in the UK as a trans person at the moment is exhausting emotionally and physically and seeing the Kamen riders never give up really helps me keep the hope for a better future for us.
The government really want us to feel inhuman so goddamn i guess I'm going to relate to these motherfucking cyborgs.
I love trans-Hongo headcannons but there is a special place in my heart for trans-Hayato. He's not extremely tall or traditionally buff, bby just wanted to take photos and ride motorcycles (like meee). But he's just as important as ichigo and his charisma and kindness make him stronger as a hero.
Look him in the face and tell him he couldnt be a transgender I dare you.
Just as each show ends with each rider riding off into the sunset committing their lives to fight the forces of evil, the battle against transphobia and fascism in general is lifelong but that does not mean our lives will be without joy and family. And that really is important to remember now more than ever. Wheeeeeee
Today’s HC: After their initial meeting at the SSDT, Hayato caught a cold from taking pictures while sopping wet. Hongo comes to visit Hayato in his hotel room (they’re staying at the same hotel) and finds out he’s sick and takes care of him while he’s sick. And that’s when Hayato’s little fanboy crush became full blown love, because he was in awe at Hongo’s kindness. Hayato insists he doesn’t have to but Hongo insists he wants to help and, that it’s the least he can do, because Hayato helped him feel at ease during such a difficult race as the book said. The experience helped bring them closer :)
Man, continuous fateful encounters(well, I would say any racing event is a man-made fateful meet up made by Hayato's hand), but having the same hotel when Hongo had finally given a full acknowledgement to that one photographer that seems to be there for every racing event he had attended?
Hayato must having a day after getting a smile, not just for a picture but at him! From Hongo from yesterday, but now he's been taking care of the man he had admired from afar?
Hongo oblivious and just got a friend out of the encounter.
Giggling at today's headcanon. Lovely and delicious to devour as always!
EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK—!

I just keep thinking about my main account and how I barely use it... if anything I use this more and any official ao3 stuff that I want to be converted into tumblr, I put it there. It's essentially to have things neat now I think about it

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Let's talk about Ichimonji Hayato's belt in SPIRITS. And the show too, I suppose.
First thing to do is demanding my dear stalker to get off my page because I will not hesitate to spew Heisei Kamen Rider spoilers if you keep looking here.
Alright, with them gone, I want to say Hayato's belt in SPIRITS fascinates me. Simply because when we entered SHIN Kamen Rider SPIRITS, we got to see Shocker Riders—by proxy Hayato's as well—belts being the same as Hongo. I found that odd but didn't think much of it. Of course, we got this lovely little panel:
Then it struck me that, huh... Hayato's little cover on the belt isn't there. Since my first thought was the little cover that Hayato has in the show could've potentially saved him from the bullet. Whinc brings in this panel:
It was Hongo who decided to add that little protection to Hayato's belt after witnessing it being shot. Of course, feel free to take in Hongo's angsty monologue and read the manga yourself, because goodness, this backstory arc got my jaw wide open when Hongo said this.
Anyway, let's go back to my fascinating point! In the Show, I always thought that Hayato got that cover due to SHOCKER's ploy to have their own Rider to defeat Hongo, and the little cover is just branding for them. I mean, this is what I naturally assume since I watched SHIN Kamen Rider (2023) first before getting into the show.
Other than that, I just wanted to share this fact since a YAY for double riders and an Awwww for SPIRITS Hongo's mental health
SPOILER WARNING FOR KR FAIZ
Small spoiler for Kamen Rider 555: The incel dies and becomes sand. He also dies in the movie.
ICHIMONJI HAYATO HAS BEEN GIFTED AN ICHIGO RIDER PLUSHIE
Today’s HC: Hayato is shown many times to be insecure despite his outward confidence and cheerfulness, and I’m sure Hongo realizes this at some point. I mean, they can never truly hide things from each other. So I love imagining Hongo finding ways to show his appreciation, maybe pampering Hayato sometimes in different ways. And I think Hayato would get flustered and surprised and giggly like “What’s all this for?” And Hongo says something so tender and heartwarming Hayato feels like he’s gonna melt.
I love today's headcanon lol
When Hayato is just feeling it but not showing it then suddenly Hongo is by his side. Of course, Hayato isn't surprised at Hongo's presence, but he definitely got surprised at the sudden affection. Hayato, having no regards of PDA despite being in the 1970s, happily accepts Hongo's sudden action and all his cloudy thoughts are far away to have his sole focus on Hongo

No AU this time but an HC I like: Hongo is secretly a bit clingy/needy with Hayato but is a bit embarrassed about it, because while he’s comfortable showing physical affection with friends in the show I think romantic affection is newer territory for him and so he’s a bit awkward about it, especially because I imagine him being pretty repressed due to… well… every circumstance you can name. But when he and Hayato wake up together in their goofy little 70s pajamas Hongo will be all clingy and needy and want lots of kisses (and obviously Hayato isn’t gonna say no)
For me, it depends on the iteration on how well the double riders do affections.
First off, to my dear stalker, dont bother reading this, why are you on Tumblr. I'll allow you to read this when I say you have sufficient knowledge to know.
Okay—lets go with Showa first.
I like to think that both Hayato and Hongo have experience in romance pre-Shocker. With Hayato traveling around the world as a freelance photographer and Hongo for accidentally got into competative racing and the fact he has stayed in one spot for more than years, they're both quite charismatic and likely to find attraction.
Hongo, I particuarly thunk he mostly explored his options or rather, romantic life during highschool and university. He're more on the lasting relationship side and I like to think he'll stay in contact as friends with his ex-partners as well.
Hayato, I feel like he's a relentless person when it comed to staying one spot. He's still capable having long-term relationships but in his life, I feel like his longest one would be 6 months before breaking off because he likes traveling around too much. If anything, as much I hate to say it considering I'm a bit of a prude, I see him having more flings than relationships in his life.
But the bond between Double Riders was unexpectably comfortable. The affections given was also unexpected but given freely eith enthusiam between them in my opnion. I like the HC that Hongo is more clingly due to unable to really hold anyone or animals for a long amount of time due to being afraid of his stregth (Hurting that kid did made him wary of being close physically in the later episodes). I still do see Hongo still trying to hold back his stregnth with Hayato but Hayato noticed quickly and just squeeze Hongo as much as he can to remind the older man that he can take all Hongo's affections quite well.
Hayato is still being clingly but not as much of Hongo due to how friendly he is with everyone. (Which is funny since he's stronger than Hongo in terms of physical stregnth) since Hayato's emotional needs of affection is more regulated since he does let them be known. (We dont talk about his other emotional needs since Hayato likes hiding them deep lol)
More AU thoughts: NO ANGST THIS TIME but I have an AU where the Double Riders are cats. Hongo lives with Tachibana obviously and has a good life. Hayato is a stray who has a little gang of kitten friends he looks after and gathers food for. Eventually Hongo catches Hayato stealing raw fish from a shop and, realizing his situation, helps him by taking him to Tachibana. Tachibana accepts his fate as the old man who feeds strays. Ruriko and the racing club girls would all be neighborhood cats and Taki is a dog because he has dog vibes. But anyways Hayato immediately falls in love with Hongo because of his kindness and is very unsubtle about his attempts at winning him over, such as bringing him toy flowers and whatnot. Also laying on top of him regularly and grooming his fur. I imagine Hongo as big and fluffy while Hayato is smaller.
From Tachibana's perspective, his sole cat is apparently a very social cat, (Which I find it funny that people try to make Hongo unsociable, but that man has so many contacts and gives a lot of good impressions on people pre-cyborg. The man still does even as a cyborg, but he's awkward now since he's more closed off...) and his fluffy big cat is currently being courted by a cat smaller than him. A surprisingly very well-groomed small stray cat.
Because Hayato grew up in London(Show) and his outfits in Show, Spirits and in Ishinomori's manga, I can't imagine the grime of fur on him. Of course, unless the kitties were a bit too playful with Hayato and Hayato had no time to groom himself when he decided to steal fish for them. The first time meeting Hongo and Hayato was very much ungroomed. Ngl, I think that would ruminate on Hayato's thoughts more than Hongo caught him stealing fish for the kitties as his first impression of Hayato.
Also, Tachibana's coffee shop was turned into a cat cafe. Tachibana, the founder of the genre "Cat Cafès"... Cat dad for the girls and Hayato, Hongo, and dog dad for Taki. He's also a grandfather for the kitties that kept popping up around Hayato.
Now thinking about it, do the cats also follow Tachibana's to the Racer's Club? Since we have no humans participating in the club, I feel like it got turned into a cat hang spot...
Anaway! Lovely AU as always! Possibilities are endless with them, haha!
