It fucks with me that until 2023’s Shin Kamen Rider, Hongo and Ichimonji were never depicted crying onscreen.

I think an interesting difference between manga Ichimonji and TV Ichimonji is that manga Ichimonji makes a lot of goofy quips in battle to hide how terrified he is when transformed while TV Ichimonji is cheerful in civilian life but very outwardly aggressive in battle and makes very few quips. Though manga Hayato can still get hot headed, he seems to prefer trying to hide his emotions as Rider. Regardless, their passion to fight for the sake of others and kind nature is what makes them Rider 2.

Every pic of Kamen Rider Ichigo/Nigo with Taki out of context is like “Watch out, Kamen Rider and some guy are coming to kick Shocker’s ass.”

Every photo of Hongo and Ichimonji looks like an old photo you’d find of your grandparents together when they were young.

Both of my favorite Kamen Rider ships involve a character with “Ichi” in their name and I find that funny.

I’ve seen the Showa Riders get mischaracterized a lot by people who’ve never touched Showa and it sucks that a lot of people’s only exposure to them will be Showa vs Heisei, a movie that makes them act very coldly and out of character.
