“Well, y’know, just—    as opposed to non-human metabolisms–? Well. I’d imagine - hypothetically, mind  -  nonhumans’ve  got  an  easier  time  of  it, wouldn’t you suppose?             —-Theoretically?”

“Well I’d think so. But then I don’t know what kind of non human we’re talking about. I mean, there’s dogs and then there’s...like, aliens and whatnot. But dogs  can’t eat chocolate so I say we’re one above them.”

“Shit, I can’t say no to that. I wonder how  fast you could get one of those things to  go with two people.  —I’m Will. I think we had English together  last year or something.”

 “Well, we’ll find out, soon enough. Of  course, yes, Will from English. Really,  don’t take my forgetting the wrong way, I know like five people at this school. Tops.”

     “Wow really? I never really thought about the thing having an opinion on interior design.”

I’m sorry to hear about all that you’re going through,               but… it all comes as part of the package, right?”               It’s true, he cannot physically SEE her signs of pregnancy, but he can               damn right sense them. The healthy second heartbeat makes him almost               one hundred percent sure that she is pregnant.                “How far along are you? If you don’t mind me asking.”

                         “So I’m told. I’d probably sound a little freaked out otherwise.                           - - a little more freaked out. Honestly I just worry the things                          gonna come out looking like a gremlin or something.”                        Though he may not know what gremlins look like, she remembered                          quickly after she spoke.                          “Six and a half months. And it’s fine, I get the question a lot. Though                           I also get a lot of people just coming up and grabbing my stomach                          too, I do mind that.”

       “Touché. Besides, with this much SUNNY D, I         doubt it’d be the vitamin C that killed me, more         likely the hundreds of additives packed in here.”
