I have been so fully consumed by the sunshine court it is actually atrocious. I held back from reading it for like a year knowing it would take over my entire being and I was right.

Jean is so sweet and so tired. He loves his former teammates, he hates them. He knows everything about them, he can tell you not only all their stats but their ambitions, their likes and dislikes, their relationships. He says it like he had no choice in knowing but he had to have paid attention to them the same way he notes things about the Trojans.

Normally noticing these things might not seem like a big deal but Jeans POV is such a stark contrast to Neil's. We know fuck all about the appearances of the Foxes, the only reason we know what Aaron looks like is because he looks like Andrew. Speaking of, Jean's mention that Aaron's only interesting feature is his murder charge, spectacular. He calls Andrew creepy, he calls Kevin a bitch multiple times, he calls Neil the tiny bastard, you tedious malcontent. "As useful as perfume on a frog", "If his hands ever started working again, Jean would choke the life out of Kevin". I love Jean. I love him so much. He has been beaten and destroyed with no way out previously and he's still sassy as hell. Honey I've lost my personality to depression before and reading him hold on to if nothing else that little bit of himself, in a way that could never be stifled, I'm in love with it.

He has a ptsd flashback every 5 pages, I have to take personal breaks because I nearly fall into panic attacks in commiseration. He counts things to live for and has never gotten rid of anything ever given to him even if it is something awful because that's all he has.

Kevin forced a bitchass promise from him and Jean is keeping it and I can only bet you that isn't for Kevin but because that's the only time someone asked him to live.

I am under the impression that the entire book Jean has never actually smiled and I know when he does Jeremy is going to lose it. I am going to lose it. I want the best for him and I want to see his healing journey and I know, like it already does, it is going to Hurt but that is how it be.
