All Alone
His heart dropped at her look of worry and he quickly shook his head, squeezing her hand lightly. “No, no, little dove. It wasn’t you. I hadn’t been sleeping well for a while, last night was probably some of the best rest I’d had in a while after you got there. Just, last night in general was a rough one.” He wanted to reassure her that it wasn’t her fault, he really hated how she was so quick to blame herself about those kind of things.
A smirk slowly spread across Kovu’s lips as he noticed her blush before a laugh left his lips when she squeezed his hand. Her response made his smirk turn into a grin and he just nodded before reluctantly letting go of her hand to climb back out of the tree. Part of him knew he could easily jump out and tuck into a roll, but he’d rather not have her be pissy with him so soon after he’d just gotten to kiss her again. Waiting at the bottom for her, he nodded his head before speaking. “I agree, I’ll walk you back to your room. I call driving, by the way.”
Trying to let go of the worries Kovu's horrid sleep was causing her, Jane quickly and ably follows him down, landing with a light thud beside him. Almost immediately she takes his hand, weaving her fingers between his and leading him back towards the Kind dorms. "That's quite alright with me," she replies, indifferent to the request. It was time with Kovu that she cared about, after all. A warm sort of happiness had filled her, and Jane couldn't help but glance at him out of the corner of her eye and smile to herself. Really, the walk didn't last nearly long enough. "I'll be no more than ten minutes-- I'll be quick as a whip!" she promises, kissing his cheek. "And I'll meet you back by the Cunning dorms." With one last smile, she slips into the Kind dorms to change.
