The greatest disappointment and disservice in season 8 has been to the complete and utter destruction and Assassination of the character of Jon snow by the writers (if you can call them that)
Jon snow this season has HAD 3 lines of dialogue this season
His story arc for 7 seasons has been pulled from his character who went through all of the shit, to earn IT in the end, it got dropped onto someone's lap who did not earn it in any way and had nothing to do it.
George RR Martin has mentioned something interesting below :
âYou get totally extraneous things like the studio or the network weighing in, and they have some particular thing that has nothing to do with story, but relates to, âWell this character has a very high Q Rating so letâs give him a lot more stuff to do even though heâs a rather unimportant character,'â
Why does it feel like the executives at HBO pulled a political move and told the show writers â Arya has a decent Q rating she will kill the night kingâ  â Focus on Arya more even if her character has nothing to do with the story being toldâ
Then in behind the scenes, we have this  âArya seemed like the right choice for this momentâ ever since episode 3 they have been saying that in the behind the scenes. Like they are trying to convince themselves and the audience by saying it repeatedly, even if they dont believe it. Because they got instructed to do it.
Arya may be an assassin, but to me, it feels like she has assassinated the character of Jon Snow with the help of the writers. When u take a look back and really think and look at the screen time she has been given this season and the lack of SCREEN time Jon snow has had, the lack of dialogue he has had , the lack of fulfillment for his story arc for 7 seasons, the utter destruction of his character he feels like an empty shell of the Jon Snow of the past seasons.
When the story was being told through his eyes, and he was the one moving everything forward, that is was when the show was at its best, and since they have now tried to dump all of that onto other character or characters it doesnt work, and partly to blame for the poor writing this season because they can not convey it properly.
I have read the leaks which have been accurate form episodes 1-5, what happens in that episode ( if they are true) just continues on with the same shit they have done to Jon this season. His only purpose left in the show now is to kill Daenerys Targaryen. I wouldn't be surprised if they then took that away from him as well and pulled hey guys guess what âEXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED AGAINâ WooWHooooo. For 8 years they are trying to tell us his only purpose is to kill his closing living relative, someone who he's in love with but can not return it anymore because he doesnt want to commit incest, so he has to kill her, im sorry but that's not good enough. All because it is bittersweet, I am no writer, but, when I watch something I can see the writing everywhere on screen, I can see if they put any thought into it or not, I can see how they crafted it and the only thing I can see this season is they dont give a shit anymore. They should have been fired by HBO when they turned in the abysmal script for this season. But HBO is no better than them because hey âQâ Rating.
I would prefer if he stayed dead at the end of season 5, because instead what u have done is killed his character slowly while we have to watch it.
Also, they have done the same thing to Daenerys Targaryen, The fact that the writers are this incompetent, lazy, and frankly dont care anymore, they have taken there 2 main characters for 8 seasons and destroyed them for no other reason than they are bad writers, dont know what story they are trying to tell, want to go for cheap  SHOCK and âSUBVERTED EXPECTATIONS MOMENTSâ
To all the Daenerys Targaryen and Jon snow ( Aegon Targaryen) - may as well use his real name once fans out there, if u want to contain some sense of the characters you have followed for 7 years, if you want them to make sense, and you want their story to make sense, my advice is to pretend after episode two of season 8 the show ends there and wait for the books, because to be honest, the first two episodes of season 8 are the last best real episodes of game of thrones, because they where not written by D&D.
Also, our excitement and enjoyment of the show has died with the thousands of innocent people that were killed by a character, who as far as I am concerned, body was taken over when an escaped mental patient from a genocide mental ward teleported into the body of Daenerys Targaryen. Which would actually make sense with the amount of teleporting in the past two seasons EXPECTATIONS SUVERTED
