A pretty standard draft, this pumpkin spice ale is just as advertised. The pumpkin spice certainly comes through while a the ale remains. Slightly bitter after taste, but seasonally fun otherwise

When I was craving a good Perry, a friend of mine talked about drinking it in Sweden and the crisp pear taste it had. As I found my previous Perry to be disappointing, I was hopeful this one, a polish made cider, would be an improvement

And oh boy was it

Gentle, crisp, and recognizably pear, this perry is a delight for the taste buds. It's not too strong, not overwhelming, but a refreshing drink that I always expected a perry to be. At times it can impart a light bitter taste but it's uncommon enough that it may go unnoticed. If anything, even more pear flavor could improve it but as is it's hard to complain

I recently found myself with a craving for some perry and popped over to my local imports shop and got two different ones

The first of these, which I've had before, is Samuel Smith's Organic Perry

As far as ciders go it's quite good; crisp and refreshing, perhaps more sour than others though only lightly. However, any pear flavor is largely nonexistent. It's more or less just a standard cider with a slight pear if you believe hard enough. That said it is a good cider, just isn't what you'd want from a perry

A personal favorite which I've enjoyed before, Innis & Gunn's Scottish Red brings even stronger boldness complexity to an already nuanced beer. Rich with a coffee-like flavor, one would be forgiven for believing it a stout were it not for its blood red color.

But what of the rum cask? Just as promised, the notes of rum come through with the beer only adding to experience that is its flavor

Though with such complexity, there is a powerful bitterness that underlies a lot of it and can make it difficult to drink at times. We're it not for this, I would consider Innis & Gunn to have created a perfect beer

God this one is almost hard to describe. It's a deep and complex beer, malty and spicy and rich. While still a lighter golden beer, it hits with a flavor palate comparable to many stouts. It's simply delicious, though perhaps in a way that requires moderation (I cannot imagine drinking two of these back to back without getting overwhelmed. Having had another of Innis & Gunn's beers (review coming soon) i can say that they do not miss.

Stout-like in its richness, this Pecan ale delivers a pleasantly deeply flavor that allows the nutty undertones to reveal themselves. I wouldn't describe the flavor as explicitly 'Pecan', but nutty for sure. It's good, though I wish it offered more

When I saw sitting on the shelf of my hometowns touristy store (whose craft beer selection is shamefully unmatched) I knew I had to try it

Everyone I told about it was disgusted at the thought, and frankly I was worried. It could be undrinkably bad, but it then it would at least be interesting.

Initial impressions of the Spicy Pickle Sour aren't bad. Nor are they really all to good. It meets you with the standard burn of a sour, but then follows with just the faintest burp of pickle spices, mostly just the dill.

But exploring it more, the pickle flavor reveals itself through the sourness. It's subtle, but the spices that give it the name spicy are detecable, though not by much.

As someone who (only as of recently years shamefully) is very fond of pickles, this pickle juice sour is different and iver all pleasant, but isn't terribly interesting all things considered. Certainly worth a try for the curious
