“do teachers really think a five page essay a week is OKAY?? my brain feels like it’s about to melt.” malia huffed, her head in her hands. “i literally have the worst case of senioritis right now. I am so close to just dropping out.” 

“i don’t think teachers really care how many essays they assign per week. they’re just trying to get us to keep up with the work.” the raven haired girl shrugged. “it happens. you’re so close to the end that you don’t want to do anything when this is the most crucial time to get it done and approve your grades.” she shook her head. “don’t do that. you’re close now.” 

VULCAN: don't wanna look at it. i'd have to take my... HIS shoe off, then HIS sock ....and then i'd have to look at it. what if it's SCARY, JULIANA?

VULCAN: he's pretty tough, like, 3.

JULIANA: Oh, right. but he should definitely look at his foot so that it doesn't swell up and has to be cut off.

JULIANA: just a thought.

VULCAN: How do I know if I have a broken foot or if it just hurts a whole lot.

VULCAN: Asking for a friend.

VULCAN: A friend who currently can't walk... and who might be crying.

JULIANA: i'm pretty sure you can tell by looking at it.

JULIANA: seeing a doctor might be best though.

“ of course i did. ” elena replied in a more serious tone, she felt like juliana thought she was an idiot and naturally now she felt bad. “ time is relative, thirty days might be a lot for you as it might be the opposite for me. ” since she enjoyed pretty much the whole month, she knew the month would just fly by.

“sure, of course you did.” the younger girl shook her head, letting her eyes widen a bit. she wasn’t too confident with her answer so juliana was going to make her own opinions. “time isn’t relative. it’s proven by science and history. it’s something that happens all around us. day and night, over and over.” she shrugged, keeping her eyes on the other. “at least it’s a fun one. the others are pretty boring.” 

“ they taught me in school. ” elena replied in an oblivious way. “ to be fair i’ve always been kinda bad at math though. but i can count, and i know there’s a week left until october. ” it honestly surprised her people weren’t that into it anymore. “ you haven’t? but it’s so soon. i’ve been thinking about it for the past month. ” 

“they might have taught you but did you actually learn?” she lifted her eyebrows, listening to the other speak once more. “almost an entire week. we’re a little short of it now.” juliana sighed. she enjoyed fall but she wasn’t too into celebrating halloween all month long. just one day. “it’s in a month. that’s not too soon. thirty something days, really.” 

“i think the answer is obvious. adrian, of course.” 

“i wouldn’t know. you’ll have to ask grayson.” 

“ god, it’s almost halloween! just one more week. ” she was most certainly referring to the whole month of october as halloween. “ can you believe it? i swear every year goes by faster, time sounds fake at this point. ” when it came to this particular holiday, elena was like a little hyped up kid. “ have you thought about what you’re gonna dress up as? ”

“almost halloween? it’s over a month away.” the brunette furrowed her eyebrows, glancing at the other female. “i’m not sure where you learned to count but that’s not how i was taught.” she shrugged. “i haven’t thought that far ahead. as i said, it’s over a month away. at least let me get into october first.” 

“Maybe it was just the rain,” she shrugged. “Some rains are just gloomy. I don’t think I saw the sun once today,” Nellie was the kind of person whose mood reflected the weather. “But, yes, I love fall clothing. It’s all just so comfortable. I hope winter isn’t too bad.”

“perhaps but rain is supposed to be refreshing. today it was just gloomy.” she nodded. “hopefully we’ll see it tomorrow. there can’t be that many days without the sun.” she glanced down before looking at the blonde. “it’s my favorite. oversized sweaters and comfy socks. yes, please.” she hoped it wouldn’t be either but she wasn’t sure. “me too but we’ll see.” 

“I love Fall more than any other season, but the weather today has just made me feel nothing but gloomy. I really hope this isn’t some sort of sign that this winter will be awful. Bad winters just make me so sad.”

“i feel that deeply.” juliana nodded with a small smile. “i love the cool air and being able to wear jeans and sweaters all the time but i could use a little sunshine. just a bit for a few hours, even.” she sighed to herself. “winter could be worse.” 

Saffron: Do you ever get unreasonably angry at the end of Titanic?

Saffron: Why did Jack need to die? Why???

Saffron: idc what physics says, they totally could have both fit.

juliana: not particularly, no. i wasn't all that attached.

juliana: someone had to die to make the story a tragedy. it had to happen.

“ really? that’s ridiculous. i mean, i understand actual toddlers eating tide pods or drinking cleaning products because they don’t know any better but seventeen year olds? that’s just stupid. ” she was aware that being a teen involved doing reckless stuff but that was just a little too reckless. “ you’re right. but maybe they should take it down a notch. i blame it on the internet, to be honest. not in the technology is bad and has ruined society kind of way but just, it’s easier to spread stupid ideas like that. ”

“teenagers these days are really stupid. you can’t put it past them.” juliana said like she wasn’t just a teenager a few months ago. she didn’t act like that, though. “it’s all really ridiculous. this is why we can’t have nice things anymore.” she shrugged, glancing at her future step mother. “i completely agree that they should take it down a notch but when there are fans, there are stupid videos of kids eating tide pods.” she nods. “it’s totally the internet. there was nothing else before that to see these challenges.” 

“I know you’re not a moron. And yeah all of that is true but…” Isaac shrugged. He just had to take all these classes. It was easier, he felt, for him to rush through. “I am your mothers baby. I’m your baby brother. Don’t you think you should treat me with a little respect? I am the future of the nation after all.”

“then stop talking to me like i’m a moron. that’s rude.” she shook her head, pushing her hair over her shoulder. she understood working hard but she wasn’t going to kill herself for school or a job. it would be there the next day. with a loud scoff, she glanced at her step brother again. “in your dreams. who told you that, anyways? i know it wasn’t her. plus, you’re barely a year younger than i am.” 

“What I’m studying is gonna be the rest of my life. I wanna be a nurse, I gotta go to school. Its that simple. I can’t not stress over school, I have to take classes so I can get the job I want. I think that’s pretty damn important.” Isaac hadn’t meant to raise his voice, but it just happened. He shook his head; there was no reason to start yelling, so he needed to calm down. “The oldest and youngest are usually the ones to get the most attention. And you’re neither of those, so…” He gasped. “Excuse me? I am her baby, and she is my mother, how dare you?”

“you don’t have to spell it out for me. i’m not a moron. i understand all of that but you’re literally going to drive yourself mad and you’re not going to enjoy it anymore. it’ll just be a job. like everyone else. you don’t have to stress over school like that. it will still be there when you’re done.” she shook her head, glancing over at her step brother. she wasn’t sure who he thought he was but she wasn’t going to listen to that. “no, you’re not wrong. i’m not but neither are you. not with my mom, at least. maybe your own.”
