“I want to be mad at that, but who can get mad at being called adorable? I feel like that’s the goal.” There was also the fact that even if she was pretending, she couldn’t stay annoyed for too long. The urge to fall back into her normal smile always won out in the end. “I’d say we need time to enjoy the summer weather, but we’re pretty lucky to escape awful winters. So I’ll go with… We need the time to just enjoy life? Do some stupid summer stuff while we can.” 

Isaac shook his head. “I hate it. In elementary school, girls in the same grade as me would call me adorable. Not in the “I wanna date you” way. In the “aw look at this younger kid who I don’t wanna date” way.” He hated the word ever since. “Yeah... I’m glad winters are bearable here. Visiting other places during winter is a nightmare. Oh, definitely. Stupid summer stuff is my forte. S.S.S, as one might say.”

      ❛  no one. ❜       he normally wasn’t a horrible guy. sure, his friends at halston high didn’t have the best reputation, but he himself wasn’t horrible. still, when the other spoke, he practically didn’t recognize him. he almost did a double take.        ❛  n–– no one, it’s nothing. ❜       

Isaac shrugged. He didn’t know why he couldn’t let it go; the curiosity was going to kill him. “Doesn’t really sound like nothing.” Isaac wondered if the other guy recognized him. It didn’t seem like he did.

ryker: I WILL FIND OUT THE UBER YOU'VE BEEN DRIVING WITH AND SLASH THEIR TIRES

ryker: I WILL MAKE SURE UR CAR STAYS BROKEN THOUGH.

isaac: im pretty sure u can get arrested for that

gemma: isaac don't you dare drop out

gemma: i will punch u if you drop out

gemma: you. can. do. this. i got your back. do you need anything? what can i do to help?

isaac: i wouldn't mind getting a good punch actually

isaac: i think i need to get in a fight, let out all my frustrations

“Are you implying I can’t even be as pretend mean as the original Grinch? That hurts, I could almost cry.” She sniffled, before chuckling at how ridiculous it was. “You realise telling people to stop questioning things, makes them want to? It’s like telling someone not to look at something, all it’s gonna do is make them look.” She joked, before shrugging. “No idea, but they shouldn’t be a thing. True… Everyone does need breaks. I don’t think I could handle being so busy all year.” 

“That right there just proved my point. You’re too adorable to be a grinch.” It was all a joke but also kinda serious. Saffron was too nice of a person to be so bitter; he was a little envious of it. He playfully rolled his eyes at her next comment. “I know. Neither could I. That’s why I never take classes during the summer. I need that time for myself.”

lorelai: hi. i'm afraid you have the wrong number. but, you shouldn't drop out. stick it out. take a nice nap. you got this! you will most likely regret dropping out.

isaac: hello strange person, yes u are right i will probably regret it LATER

isaac: but right now, its looking like a damn good option

ryker: if you drop out

ryker: i'm slashing the tires to ur car.

isaac: JOKES ON YOU

isaac: MY CAR BROKE DOWN A WEEK AGO

sawyer: seems a bit late in the year to drop out

sawyer: plus there's all that wasted money

sawyer: you just have to time manage

isaac: okay good point

isaac: its not time managing, really

       ❛  why does everyone keep fucking asking me how he’s doing ? ❜       he groaned as he walked into the coffee shop across the street from the hospital talking to no one in particular. he’d made it all the way to the lobby before turning back. fuck that guy. he wanted nothing to do with him and he’d made that clear over the last eighteen years. he’s not my brother.     

Isaac probably should’ve ignored what Royal was saying. They didn’t know each other well (depending on what context you were thinking of), so it wasn’t very appropriate to get in his business.“Asking how who is doing?” It sounded very serious.

isaac: im so tired

isaac: my professors only let me off for a week so now i have to go back to classes

isaac: that is something i do NOT want to do

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m clearly the meanest person around, I’m practically Halston’s version of the Grinch.” She scoffed. Raising an eyebrow at her answer, she couldn’t help but laugh softly. “Uh things?” she parroted with a smirk. “Having more time to eat would be amazing. Especially if there was some way to negate any extra calories you’d have. That would be the ideal. Only sometimes?” 

“Maybe the new Grinch. He’s adorable, and not all that mean. You’re more like him.” Isaac nodded his head, agreeing with himself. What he was saying was totally true. “Yeah, things. Stop questioning it.” He chuckled. “Why are calories a thing? Like why does anything have to be considered unhealthy, you know? Well, being busy is good for when you’re bored or have something you want to avoid. It’s not so great when you’ve been busy for so long and need a break.”

‘‘one of the worst things about this job– you help someone and–’‘ he winces as keeps the napkin against his face, another string of spanish swear words escaping him. ‘‘ i– thank you isaac. i appreciate it..’‘

“Does this happen regularly? If it does, I’m not so sure I want to be a nurse now.” Isaac had never heard of it happening a lot of time for nurses, but fire fighters and nurses did similar things right? “Yeah, no problem.”

the first shift back on the job was an eventful one. someone that antonio and his partner were trying to help had taken a jab at him, landing one hell of a punch. ‘’SHIT– don’t worry..’’ he grumbles to himself, a string of swear words leaving his lips in spanish ‘’i’m fine. its just a scratch.’’ but do scratches even bleed that MUCH??

Isaac wished he’d never seen Antonio. Because now he had to help him. He wished he wasn’t so nice sometimes. “That’s not a scratch. That’s a gash.” He searched his pockets for napkins and was glad to see he had some. He handed it to Antonio. “Here.”

a genuine smile comes across his features at the thought of it– finally having a well oriented family dinner after being locked up for so long. at least he’d be around people he knew, and not.. a bunch of complete strangers. he’s silent for a moment but nods once, the smile still on his face. ‘’yeah, i know i will. i’m glad i’m home to enjoy it.’’

Isaac was glad that he’d directed the conversation from where it was going. He didn’t like things getting too sad. “It’ll be great. I make a killer stuffing if I do say so myself.” He’d made stuffing once for a class party and everyone hated it, but Isaac wasn’t going to dwell on that.

“I was going to say that I’ll make sure to make sure to burst your bubble at some future point but… Well I wouldn’t, so everyone knows that’d be an empty threat.” She chuckled. Mock pouting at his next words, she sighed a little too dramatically. “You should be Hermione.  But okay, what would your reasons be? Better to be busy, right?” 

“Bubble bursting is mean... True, no one could see you doing something so mean.” Isaac laughed at her reaction. “I know! Um, have more time to eat, more time to do- some, uuuuh... things. Oh also, go to parties or something. Yeah, being busy is nice sometimes.”

“I doubt you’ll get that fat,” Tulsa nodded. “Oh those are good ones, although I’m not a huge fan of April Fools and I’m not sure how fun Christmas is going to be this year.”

“Oh no. You haven’t seen me eat a thanksgiving meal. I mess that shit up. I gain like 20 pounds from all the food I eat the day of, and the leftovers I eat the week after. Thanksgiving is no joke.”
