Her expression mirrored Juliannaâs amusement briefly. âMm, while the straights are the worst, arenât people who get divorced those who ignore bad omens, are uncertain from the beginning?â While Lila voiced her thoughts regarding a fall wedding, she didnât share her opinion on a wedding in spring. Her mind wandered off regardless, as she pictured what it would look likeâ somewhere other than LA. Lila imagined bright colors all aroundâ fresh flowers, all sorts of pastries, herself wearing lace. Sun only slightly warming her cheek. However, the blonde reeled in her imagination and brought her gaze back to Julianna who kept looking at her with the same old blank, exhausted expression. This conflict seemed to be taking its toll on her already. Poor woman, Lillian thought. The real war hadnât even begun. âWhy wonât you talk to me, Julianna?â Lila tilted her head to the sideâ their stories were complicated but heavily intertwined as well. If they didnât learn how to communicate the feud would never end. ââIf youâre offended by the compliment, donât be. Iâm used to speaking my mind, and if I think youâre beautiful Iâm going to say it, no need to make a big deal out of it.â And there wasnât an eye-roll in this world which could prevent her. Her gaze darted back to Julianna as an interesting idea popped into her mind. âOr are you afraid to have a normal conversation with me? Because⊠What if you like it.â Now, that was some food for thought.
Julianna wasnât ignoring bad omens. She didnât believe in them anyway. She wasnât uncertain about a thing regarding Zelda. In fact, if there was anything in the world she was certain about, it was that she wanted to and was going to marry Zelda, and they would be together and they would be happy... just as soon as she sorted this thing out with her father. She couldnât help but laugh, honestly, which was actually a rather nice feeling considering the shit day sheâd been having so far. Trust Lillian Solano to bring that out in her. âWhat do you want to talk about?â Julianna asked her, still with a ghost of a smile on her face. âDid you really come here because you want to have a nice chat about my wedding? Zeldaâs really the person to talk to about that.â She was much more interested in the details. Julianna just wanted to be married.
