Welcome my lovlies to another wonderful Junelezen! Starting on June 1, this year we will exploring the more theatrical side of our wonderful Elezen, with prompts meant to evoke cinema, theater, movies and more! There is a prompt for every day in June, so feel free to take your pick.

Oh, how long I've felt like a ghost wearing skin..

But you gave me freedom to speak.

Some promises just... faded over time. Writ on air, spelled out in breath, nothing tangible gave them endurance. Upholding something so ephemeral...

Vauxite thought it about as meaningful as the notion of loss in Solution Nine.

And yet...

She'd agreed to return to the city, to slap a regulator onto her head, to put aside everything she'd taken time away to face. And now that she had...

If Devon didn't consider her promise fulfilled and their slate completely cleared, she'd throw him off the highest point in Everkeep.

Vauxite sighed, walking to the edge of the level and staring out at the lights and colors she'd once assumed were all the world had to offer.

Once she'd upheld her end of the promise, she would take her leave of Solution Nine, of electrope and the persistent tingle of lightning-aspected aether, and go out to seek something real.

He thought of it more often than not.

...and, in truth, he didn't always think of his treacherous half-sister when he envisioned the battle that would secure Capricia to his side. That would prove to him (and her) that she'd chosen to fight him no longer.

A fight, really. Any fight. One in which he'd picked up the lance he'd so long, long ago let fall to the side. A fight in which he wielded only martial prowess.

And... often... he thought of Solange.

Surely she would attack on sight. Duskwights were notoriously violent and irrational, and being the half-blood that she was... She wouldn't turn down a chance to attack the man who'd put a sword through her body.

The last bit of gossip he'd heard put her somewhere east, but it wasn't out of possibility that their paths would cross... And then she would show the truth of her parentage by lunging at him.

And when he lay beside Capricia, the end of her choke chain lead tensing around his wrist when she tried to roll over... He thought of what that fight could become.

Of the flare of aether as Capricia would cast a shielding spell over him, would draw her slim rapier to leap into the fray, ready to stand with him against anything that attacked.

And it tickled him profoundly to think of it.

One day, the fight would happen, he felt certain of it. Regardless of who flew at him to attack, Capricia would jump to his defense out of that possessive rage he knew intimately.

And when that day came, he knew he would walk away from her without a moment's hesitation.

On a ship overlooking the horizon.

Bonfire.... Julezen - Day 19

"MOVE!"

Patrol had been quiet, aside from a couple of easily dispatched scouting dragonflies. In the driving rain, not even Halone was casting Her gaze skyward. Their only warning had been the weighty thud of something landing behind them, and the low rolling growl.

Levraut remembers wielding his spear to swat Kizuna out of the way like a leaf in the wind, the muted click-fwoosh of aether igniting even in the rain. The smell of muddy grass and hot metal and cooking meat. Not the pain, though. That, that came later.

He overhears the stories in hushed whispers, through the haze of recovery and pain and surgeries and magic, that his companion had drawn the dragon to him, intending to strike him down. Strike a warning blow to the clergy that even their children were not safe from their wrath. But, for the Furies blessing, this treacherous plan had failed, and Kizuna had cowered at the first lick of flames, while the noble knights had struck the beast down, and carried Levraut to safety.

But that didn't sound anything like Kizuna.
