There’s something foreboding about just this year seeing countless fic authors leaving platforms due to the lack of of community etiquette. This loss of cultural consensus and cooperation that had seeped into all parts of life, even fandom, and the people that give and put themselves out there the most become the biggest victims. One of the most effective mechanisms of human evolution and survival is reciprocal altruism, and you don’t even have to go as far as pure altruism. Sometimes making a little extra effort to listen and not fuck people over, you will find, makes your life so much better. For your own best interest, stop being an annoying fuck.
