Rewrite
Okay, looks like a fresh third attempt (hopefully this is it!)
I decided to rewrite when draft one was around 60k words and I realised I had the wrong protagonist, I decided to rewrite again when draft two was at 120k words and I realised it didn't work in present day.
Draft three feels promising but vastly more complicated. This might be it though.
