So before I head down the shore and create some good memories and get away from it all, I wanna go over something that Youtube just announced that struck a nerve with me.

Youtube has announced that their making some changes to their Youtube Partnership program, and one of the changes that's on the tip of everyone's tongue is the fact that you now need more time to get ads on Youtube video's and shorts. According to Youtube themselves:

To keep pace with the growth of YouTube, which now sees over 200 billion daily Shorts views and over a billion hours of watch time on TV everyday, we are updating the YPP entry requirements for ads and Premium revenue sharing for new creators. This update won't impact creators already in YPP. New creators applying for YPP will need 8,000 qualified watch hours in the last 365 days, or 20 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days. The entry thresholds for our Fan Funding and shopping products remain unchanged. Taken together, these updates allow us to invest in new incentive programs that directly support creator growth and the many business models that work across YouTube. Creators can review and sign the new terms within YouTube Studio which will take effect on February 1, 2027.

Yes guys, I am salty about this change as now it means my chances of making money on Youtube are even slimmer, but also I need Youtube to understand something: monetizing on Youtube is becoming more and more difficult.

You've got AI shutting channels down, you've got the all mighty algorithm, and I wouldn't hold my breath on Youtube actually doing something about AI channels.

Like I get it to some degree Youtube that you wanna make it harder for bad actors to make money, but it feels like every time you do something like this, the creators with good intentions get punished and in turn burnt out the most.

Just trying to make Youtube a sort of side gig is a tall task because the powers that be insist on changing everything around. Lowering the bar a bit for tips would be nice but is Youtube gonna do that? Probably not.

Stuff like this is why I understand the people who want an alternative to Youtube. It sucks swamp water that Youtube is the only platform around to share video's on next to twitch (which is also going downhill because of AI, gee what a surprise), and I long for the day we get an alternative to the site that works better and doesn't have creators bending over backwards just to make side gig money.

As much as I want to hold off on speculating what's going to happen in season 2 of Pendog before the season finale, I do have to ponder what's going to happen to Harmonia.

Out of all the Hecate Daughters she seems like the one who's final realizes that she was in the wrong. We last saw her in the flower field, saying she understands why we hate her and that she just wanted to be a part of history.

Her and Vamp seem to be the two characters that are starting to go against the grain of momma bear, which most likely is gonna have some server consequences.

Fall folks, I wanna apologize. I've been so caught up in how sad I am that the sun exit's stage right at 4 (5 if congress can sing kumbaya long enough to pass the daylight savings act) to recognize how great it feels to go outside and not feel like I've entered either an oven, or a sticky swamp.

I don't wanna complain too much though because this summer hasn't been hell on earth. Last summer alongside the heat I had to deal with trying to figure out how to pay off my student loans because some really big you-know-what was going down with that. This summer? It's been more active in a good way.

I feel like I've been doing more things that I want to do this summer with less worries about money, which is a big deal for me. Without being too much of an open book, summer is kind of crappy for me. Work comes to a crawl and in this economy missing or getting a crappy paycheck can really hurt you.

Yes it is the same deal this time around, but I'm more OK with it because I'm going on vacation next week (hence the break from Let's plays, for those who follow my Youtube and saw that announcement), and I've been pounding the pavement a bit more with my journalism gig then I did last summer.

At bare bones minimum I hope this activity spree keeps going till work picks up. No I don't want to over book myself, but I want to book myself enough to were I'm not stressing out about thinks or bored out of my mind because I got nothing to do (fact that there's plenty for me to do in the chores category aside).
