for anyone researching animals for a project, it’s an extremely well categorized database i really wish I had known about sooner!

It’s fairly easy to navigate and provides tools to narrow down your search but will also provide much longer lists if that’s what you’re looking for like i was!

So i can basically scroll forever and learn about every single snail and slug if I want to.

And it’s free which is a hugeeeeeeeee plus. many other scientific resources I found that could’ve helped me were behind paywalls and were absolutely Not as comprehensive as this is.

My "Identification Series" 2026 ceramic stoneware

This series is based on my ruminations on how human rights are tied to the ownership of valid identification papers granted by the government and other organizations. You only really exist, or are considered a person, in the eyes of authority based on if your circumstances granted you access to these "IDs". I wanted to see how something cold and inhuman translated to a form inherently human. An object normally weak and monotonous turned to something that more accurately reflects the metaphorical weight identification holds for a person.
