I thought I was going to die yesterday.

My chest spasmed like a million knots diverging and collapsing into one another.

The shocked look of nurses’ faces when I came to.

“What the fuck just happened?”

- “you collapsed & we caught you”

- “how old are you?”

- “25”.

The proceeding looks on their faces - like I was going to end up as one of those stories you see in the local paper - “Healthy 25 year old with no previous health conditions dies”.

The thought flashed across my mind

- Am I going to die?

- Have I lived a life fulfilled so far?

- Who will tell my family?

Moscow Mules with fine spirits

Or is it just another well Vodka?

It’s indistinguishable,

But what’s another three dollars?

The bartender looks our way

Fingers up, another round?

We shouldn’t, I shouldn’t

Will I be able to stop myself?

It only takes one drink to get me there

But is it the 7th or the 10th?

Stumbling outside, the JMZ roars above

Piercing blue eyes, so your place or mine?

Staggering down Hart, up four floors

Didn’t I just meet this girl?
