The day Monsignor Constantine came into town, news immediately started stirring about him. The town’s previous priest, Father Michael, retired into a quiet life of solitude and the archdiocese sent a Prince of the Church, The Reverend Monsignor John Constantine – a title given to him by the Pope himself. You had lived in this town long enough to know that a Chaplain of His Holiness would cause the general population of your sleepy little town to boast a little extra hard to their friends and family who didn’t attend your church.
At twenty-four-years-old, you were single and rather attached to the good-natured, mild-mannered Father Michael. You weren’t really looking forward to getting to know a new reverend – which completely went out the window the moment you saw Monsignor Constantine stand at the altar for his first sermon with the church.
