Have two celebratory modern AU Alhtred wedding pics (summer themed because it’s like 36°C where I live and I am melting).
The party pic came first and I love how it turned out. Finan is taking their picture (or rather a picture of Uhtreds ass), and he’s also the person who used to Uhtreds back as canvas for some sunscreen art.
Some more headcanons for this AU:
- Alfred and Aelswith married young because their parents arranged it. The marriage is a mostly happy one, but something is always missing even after Edward and Aethelflaed are born.
- Alfred later realises that he is into men (and one in particular). When he finally finds the courage to tell Aelswith, she admits that she had suspected it for a while.
- after their divorce, her family blames Alfred for the failed marriage and calls him all kinds of derogatory names. Aelswith tells them to go f*ck themselves.
- When Alfred and Uhtred finally get engaged, Aelswith and her new girlfriend Hild help planning the wedding for them. To spite her family, she makes sure to include lots of rainbows and glitter.
- Aelswith becomes her ex-husbands maid of honor/best woman while Finan is Uhtred’s best man.
- Despite not being a fan of parties in general, Alfred enjoys a relaxed celebration with all of their friends. He also enjoys the photograph of Uhtred's butt in the wet swimming trunks which Finan sends him later. He would never admit it though.
