ive been taking a free course to gain the UK equivalent of a high school diploma because i was pulled out of school at 14 for illness and its impossible to get a job without evidence of basic HS education
7 weeks after starting i received notice that the course is not free for me because my address is outside of the funding catchment area, a policy not made known to me or the public until now
i pleaded with faculty of varying levels of authority who all told me i must pay the fees (£1200) regardless of whether i continue attending or drop out now, because the "cut off" period for dropping out without paying is 6 weeks
i cant afford this on my own and any help is appreciated in avoiding being taken to court. im picking up agency shifts for unskilled and immigrant workers but there are only ever 1-3 a month and they pay out horribly. i feel awful asking for help because i cant offer anything in return but ive exhausted all of my options
