Beautiful Losers is a 2008 documentary filmed by director Aaron Rose and co-directed by Joshua Leonard. It portraits a group of artists losely formed around skateboarding, tramp train art, punk rock and graffiti in the 90's.

three weeks of swedish midsummer light. camping out, sleeping butt to butt with dog, watching the sun set late and rise early. picking flowers and meeting cows and mountains.

As I run my fingers down the keys of my dirty old keyboard they almost sigh. When I push them they have a resistance as minuscule remains of nails bitten, cigarette ashes and food scraps shafe along their edges against the metal. I don't know if an online presence can be tactile in that way but I know for damn sure that the glib and shiny reels and surfaces of instagram and the muddled and opinionated and familiar old stale air of facebook does not. Meta can fuck all the way off. So I turn to tumblr. As a diary, as a vent, as a moodboard. I need a timeline and a sketchbook. Something free and gritty. Is this more a playground than a shop window? Are we allowed to do weird dances and follow wild links on this platform?

"ZEF: The Story of Die Antwoord". I think it's freaky and colorful and I liked it alot. Go watch, free on the u-tub. (And yes I am of the belief that, if needed, we should be able to distinguish the artist from the art).
