Time is a Mental Construct: Time, space, and causality require an active mind to be perceived. In deep sleep, because the mind is absent, the perception of time vanishes completely. You do not experience an hour passing or eight hours passing.

There is no such thing as communication. There are only two things. There is successful miscommunication and unsuccessful communication.

When you have unsuccessful communication, you are having a good time.

The moment you think you know something, someone comes along and rearranges everything, and that dreadful uncertainty pops up again. And that’s both the good news and the bad news. With uncertainty comes instability, instability breeds excitement, and excitement changes everything. Motion is the basis of change, and change means life.

I’m a big fan of Life. In fact, I’m so much in favor of Life that when people come to me and ask what they should do, I usually advise them to breathe.

They often assume this answer means I didn’t understand the question and so they give further clarification: “But breathing happens independently of me, I want to know what I need to do.”

So the important question for today:

What doesn’t happen independently of you?

Take the time to observe everything from a dispassionate perspective through the cultivation of mindful presence. 

Deep self-inquiry is about noticing that you are the impersonal observer of all transient thoughts, images and experiences.

Always bring your attention back into the present moment without clinging, over-reacting or identifying with the thinking mind and objects of perception.

Do not be afraid of going within and exploring your inner emptiness, for the very essence of all matter in the universe is Voidness itself (it is not in anyway separate from you). There is only the unmanifested field of pure potentiality appearing as the manifested world. Form is not the true aspect of things (all matter though they appear to be solid is made up of 99.999 percent empty space); they are illusory appearances that are masking a deeper, formless reality. You are made up of nothingness (faceless, formless, wordless and nameless), but you still matter. You are Infinite Awareness imagining yourself to be a finite being that is searching outwards for Infinite Awareness.

Wishing you had paused,

leaned in closer,

and dared to explore

the depths of me.

too far gone in my becoming
