AN: hey grad school is obscenely busy at the moment but I did manage to get a little bit posted for my jon-trusts-tim au. this one is set between seasons 2 and 3, directly after the end of the last fic in the series. I just wanted to write some more Elias tbh

Tim and Martin hash out what they’re going to tell the police, and about 20 minutes after the call, after Jon leaves, Elias strolls into the Archives.

Well, strolls is probably the wrong word. He rushes down the stairs, a perfect performance of concern, but there still seems to be a nonchalance to the way he’s moving, at least to Tim. He’s not sure he would pick up on it if he didn’t know that Elias is a murderer, but it pisses him off. Still, he forces himself to stay neutral.

like, jon didn’t really ‘do people’ and you could tell it was hard for him to find comfort in people but he genuinely enjoyed Tim.

And Tim just … there’s no way he didn’t love Jon whether platonically/romantically. You can’t be as angry at a person as Tim was with Jon if you don’t love them. That anger came from the hurt of Jon breaking Tims heart

"Enjoying the view, Cap?" Tim called out, a teasing smile shot towards the figure at the prow of the boat.

"Something like that," Jon answered. He appreciated Tim's levity, but couldn't match the energy himself. He was far to caught up in his thoughts, worries and questions clamoring in his mind. He clutched the amulet around his neck, wondering how it connected to it all.

Tim goes to buy the axe, and Jon calls Martin into his office. Martin looks wary, but he softens the moment he sees Jon, and he starts fussing over Jon, as is his way.

“Are you alright, Jon? You look awful.”

Jon clears his throat. “Yes, I… I think I’m coming down with something. You should go home, and take tomorrow off as well.”

Martin frowns at him. Jon just hopes he’ll buy the lie and stop asking questions. “Are you sure you—“

Jon cuts him off. “I don’t want to infect anyone else. Best you stay home.” He tries to give Martin a completely normal smile.

Martin gives him an unimpressed look, and Jon can practically hear his bullshit detector going off.

Jon sits, frozen, as his mind struggles to process everything. He told Tim what Melanie said about Sasha, the two Sashas, but he’d kept the rest of his little investigation to himself. It wasn’t fair to Tim, but Sasha is a delicate subject for him, and Jon wanted to be sure. And maybe, as long as he kept it to himself, it wouldn’t be real. Sasha wouldn’t have been replaced by a monster that looks nothing like her, the real her. But the time for that willful denial is over now; he knows the truth, much as he wishes he could change it. Sasha’s dead, and she has been since Prentiss.

Tim. He has to tell Tim. He deserves to know, and he deserves to help kill it.
