Two months ago, the producers of the hit television series “THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS” called me up to buy usage rights to this photograph I shot six years ago. Apparently, there’s a new “housewife character” this season who was a fashion designer in a past life. And, guess who was Johnny-on-the-spot at a New York nightclub one cold February night in 2010, taking photos at the end of her show, of her walking the fashion runway hand-in-hand with one of her models, soaking up the glow and applause of the crowd? That’s right. Me. And guess who sold iterations of this silly photo to tabloids and publications I’d never even heard of? Also me.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 7 debuts tonight, Dec 6, on Bravo. I suspect my photo will appear on screen for about two Beverly Hills seconds. At least I think they’ll use it. If you’re watching, don’t blink.
So remember all you aspiring actors, actresses, models, young athletes and knuckleheads I’ve photographed primarily for the joy and fun of it: One day, maybe… you’ll make it really really big! You'll star in your own movie! You’ll be an NFL All-Star! Your oil well will come in! Hey, maybe you’ll become President of the United States! Whatever. Just remember: I have photos of you in your underwear when you were just a punk.
