Like I said those were genuinely two of maybe three times I have ever dm on Tumblr because I’m very new to all of this, but after reading your responses, I thought, why not come off anon? I’m barely active on here anyway, and your replies were so sweet. I especially loved reading how much thought you have already put into the hockey chapter. When you explained that Frank has nobody who consistently shows up solely for him, and then imagined Sweetheart in the stands losing her mind cheering, that was even cuter and more emotional to the story than I originally imagined. 

Anyway, I thought of another idea 😬 I promise I’m not trying to sneak into your writers room and harass ur dms (I’m sick right now and rotting in bed trying to entertain myself 😵‍💫) 

Since you mentioned that Frank hasn’t been in a real fight for a while, what if he eventually gets into one (whether because of Billy, hockey, or something else) and Sweetheart helps clean him up afterward? I feel like that would also be completely new territory for Frank because he is probably used to patching himself up and dealing with that alone? Then we get that shamelessly classic moment where she is carefully tending to his face, realizes how close they are, and suddenly goes quiet with her hand still resting against his cheek….. I know the “patching Frank Castle up after a fight” trope appears everywhere but I fear there is a reason people keep using it. It fits him painfully well

I’m also curious will we ever see Sweetheart spending more time with his parents or becoming part of the family dynamic? Like how Ma reacts to the first girl who genuinely cares for him (highkey more of a question than a request) Also 100% sure you already have this on LOCK and ready to go but him seeing her room for the first time……  vice versa perhaps…..  I feel like seeing your boyfriend or girlfriends for the first time is weirdly intimate for some reason?  and maybe his thoughts coming to life (phone call thoughts) with her actually going to sleep in his shirt I feel like that can easily be placed anywhere perhaps perhaps…………… (weather he sees it or she tells him or he puts it on her……. I need 4 seasons 20 eps 1 hr each on my desk tmr)

I also have to admit that until your reply about the military years, I assumed Sweetheart was almost your version of Maria without literally naming her or directly rewriting her. When I saw someone mention Frank and Sweetheart possibly reuniting after Maria and his family pass away, I was shocked lol. I had completely convinced myself they were endgame from high school onward. Now I’m both curious and terrified about where their story goes  ( guessing it'd end with them being together but readers obv knowing they dont last… but its to soon for those thoughts)

I (chopped unc status), also, am relatively new to tumblr. Been like… a year of having one? And just since April have I started actually writing fics on here? Hahaha. So hi! Welcome! I always love knowing who I’m talking to. That’s super brave of you, btw :)

You’re right though. Patching Frank up is a classic trope because it worksssss. It’s him. He’s always gonna come back broken and beaten and sometimes he can’t fix himself. I think the idea of Sweetheart patching him up is phenomenal. It’s a foreshadowing/telling of what she’s willing to deal with, that she won’t flinch from blood, and the “worst” (aka the angriest) parts of Frank don’t scare her.

I think Sweetheart and the rest of Frank’s family dynamics will happen off page and/or a bit later in the series! Like when Frank leaves for the military, I think Louisa will make sure Sweetheart is okay. Cue: baking together, Louisa teaching her how to make bread and noodles from scratch, the proper Italian sauces, maybe a few evening walks together, or even church on sundays if sweetheart wants to go with (The Castle’s are Italian Catholic. I think his parents would attend Sunday mass, even if Frank stopped going, much to his mom’s dismay). Now we have to remember: Louisa is a bit old school/traditional, so she’s going to teach Sweetheart life skills (cooking, baking, being a good host, etc). Sweetheart’s mom never got to. I plan on doing this while ensuring it’s not sexist or a painful “trad wife” role for Sweetheart. Sweetheart still has professional and academic goals, so she will 100% pursue that, with Frank and his family’s full support.

And I can’t imagine how hard it will be on her when Frank leaves, so even more so, his family will step in and step up and treat her like their own.

(Girl I’d LOVE to write 20 seasons on these two LOL)

I want/wanted to make sure Sweetheart is different from Maria, in the best ways. I couldn’t downplay Maria’s importance to Frank and his story. BUT, I will say… yeah, sweetheart and Frankie are endgame. Nothing is certain. But.

They are…….. inevitable.
