They were in their apartment watching Cabin in the Woods which in Jinki’s opinion, was not as good as he was told it would be. He pretended to be interested though because this was one of the few nights they were both together.

It had been hard to hang out at all now that he was a resident at the hospital and Jonghyun had been promoted to sergeant. Jonghyun working almost 48 hours in a row on his last case and Jinki taking the graveyard shift. They had barely seen each other in over a month and Jonghyun started to complain via text messages and post its that he hated not seeing his best friend as often. Jinki couldn’t agree more, he missed Jonghyun and there was nothing more he wanted than to just to be close to Jonghyun again.

So, tonight was “roomies night in” as his roommate cutely called it. Jonghyun had worked hard picking up their favorite snacks and even washed their movie blanket. Jinki was not going to ruin this night Jonghyun had been planning for weeks by whining.

Now they were both lying on opposite sides of the couch under their blanket with popcorn and hot chocolate set to the side. Jonghyun was staring at the screen, wide eyed with a smile on his face, clearly enjoying the movie more than Jinki. Jinki instead chose to watch Jonghyun, smiling whenever he would laugh or make a face at the gore. Jonghyun was, Jinki thought, was much more entertaining than the movie.   

Every once in a while Jonghyun would nudge Jinki to see if he was awake and every time Jinki would throw a kernel at him in response.

Eventually Jonghyun got too distracted by the popcorn and kept trying to catch the flying kernels in his mouth. He looked like a little kid, it warmed Jinki’s heart.

“Pay attention to the movie Jonghyun, it was your idea to watch this garbage.” Jinki teased after Jonghyun had missed his mouth for the sixth time.

Jonghyun threw the remaining popcorn at Jinki in mock offense.

“Excuse you but you didn’t hear me complaining when we watched Avatar for the millionth time last movie night.” He protested.

“We get it Jinx, white people like to take over shit that’s not theirs and there are blue aliens. I get it.”

Jinki sat up scowling at his giggling roommate.“That movie was beautiful! Take it back right now!”

“No!”

Jonghyun ran off the couch knocking the forgotten popcorn onto the floor. Jinki followed after him into the kitchen, he would tickle the other to death until he took it back. Avatar was a masterpiece!

Jonghyun rounded the kitchen island quickly waving his arms around obnoxiously. “I’m Jinki and I like to make my poor roommate watch 3D movies in our living room for the umpteenth time because I got a nerd boner for the blue alien girl.”

Jinki couldn’t help but laugh.

“I only said she was hot like one time!” He said from across the island where he had Jonghyun was cornered.

He watched Jonghyun’s eyes dart around the kitchen looking for an escape route, his face paling a bit when he realized there was none.

“No where to run now Jjonggie, any last words?” He says sweetly, knowing that he’s got him right where he wants him.

“Yeah, James Cameron can suck my dick!” Jonghyun cackles.

Jinki lunged for Jonghyun trapping him between his body and the counter, their bodies pushed close as he began to tickle him.

“Take it back Jjong! James Cameron is a theatrical genius!”

Jinki attacked but Jonghyun was able to wiggle himself slightly out of his hold to avoid most of his touch and threatened to punch him in the balls if he didn’t stop. Jinki backed up quickly covering his private area.

Jonghyun stopped giggling enough to catch his breath, his tan skin flushed and eyes sparkling.

Jonghyun looked so beautiful and happy that Jinki found himself lowering his gaze to his lips and wondering how soft they would feel against his.

“What if I don’t take it back? What are you going to do about it?” Jonghyun panted out and something inside of Jinki snapped.

Jinki pushed closer until Jonghyun’s back hit the counter and gripped the sides with his hands. Jonghyun looked up at him then, his teeth tugging on his full bottom lip. Jinki wanted to taste them.

Jinki pushed forward until they were flush against each other looking for any sign that told him that this was ok. He wanted Jonghyun to want him as much as he wanted him.

“What do you think I should do about it?” he asked their breaths mingling.

“I think you should shut me up because the only good movie Cameron has directed was Tita—“

Jinki leaned in right then slowly and softly pressed his lips against Jonghyun’s. He was going to savor the kiss because honestly he was scared and Jonghyun wasn’t responding. What if he had read this situation wrong and he ruined everything.

That thought made him pull back slightly. Jinki looked at him, Jonghyun’s eyes were still closed and his grip on the counter were turning his knuckles white.

“Jinki…”

He stepped back waiting for the heavy burn of rejection that was sure to come. He lowered his gaze to the ground waiting for Jonghyun to storm out, punch him, anything.

“D-do that again.”

Jinki lifted his head so fast it made him dizzy, he had to have heard wrong, right?

“Jinki kiss me.”

It wasn’t a request, it was a command that he was more than happy to fulfill. He wrapped his arm around his waist and pulled Jonghyun back into him, his other hand holding the side of his face. He had dreamt of this moment for so long, but reality was so much better.
