A 1959 novelty album by lgbtq+ ally Nancy Walker (who counted Montgomery Clift, Rock Hudson and Paul Lynde as close friends). Though she's best remembered today for playing Rhoda Morgenstern's meddlesome mother Ida on both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and the spin-off Rhoda and Sophia Petrillo's "frenemy" sister Angela on The Golden Girls, Nancy was also a talented singer and dancer who got her start on radio and Broadway in the late-1930s and early-1940s before being signed by MGM and moving to Hollywood. Appearing in MGM musicals, she eventually transitioned to TV and continued acting in stage musicals throughout her long career. Walker also directed, notably helming the infamously cheesy disco-era lgbtq+ camp classic Can't Stop the Music in 1979. Though a strong feminist, she did not, in fact, hate men, but she had no problem standing up for herself (all 4' 11" of her). Married twice, her union with her second husband, musical theater teacher David Craig, was a happy one which produced their daughter Miranda and lasted for 41 years until Nancy's passing in 1992.
