it's seriously starting to piss me off at this point how misunderstood and romanticized autism is by people on tiktok. you'd be surprised how many people water it down to just "teeheehee stimmy stimmy yippee autism creature >.< omg i'm so overstimulated anyways this food is my new hyperfixation!!!"
my brother in christ i did NOT get mocked for stimming, have my overstimulation reduced down to "throwing a tantrum" or "being afraid", and lose hours upon hours sleep from hyperfixating so hard on twisted wonderland just for y'all to reduce it down to this. oh my god. please stop. thank you.
People also need to realize saying "Everyone's a little autistic" and telling someone "You don't look autistic" are offensive. And they need to stop thinking not everyone with autism has a disability. It IS a disability.
