FINAL FILM FOR DEFERAL DEADLINE

REPORT AND FINAL THOUGHTS

If I had to describe the 2 minute film project in 2 words I would say “roller coaster”. I started this project with good expectations and I was excited to work with my other two team mates, Ana and Katerina, but unfortunately not everything goes according to plan. Our team did not work well together but I tried my best to carry on but there is a limit as to what I can handle all by myself. You could say the global pandemic and Lockdown did not help either since it was hard to met face to face. 

As the time passed I started to feel less and less motivated to work on this project and kept procrastinating. Not only because I felt demotivated but also because I was tired from working on the other projects and having to take care of my parents who had covid. 

During the summer I took the opportunity to relax and get out of my house. I wanted to focus on my private art and not on University projects. However, I still had to finish this project (my part at least) and the result was this uploaded film which I honestly am not proud but I did my best to my abilities to try animate everything even if it isn’t fully coloured. I also took the chance to contact the 3rd years of the Music course and ask if they were interested in doing music for my film. Two girls kindly helped me and I am satisfied with the music that they have provided me. 

Lualapin is an artist I found on Instagram. I was scrolling down my feed and I found her backgrounds really great and the choice of her colour palette. She used to work as a 3D environment artist but later decided to work on 2D backgrounds, her story was really inspiring to me because she followed her passion and move on to do what she loved. The conversation was really casual but very informative!

At first when starting this project I didn't really know who to contact because even though I had some artists in mind I knew that probably none of them would answer back. So I asked Harriet if she had any friends who would be willing to answer my questions and fortunately Eva was one of them. She worked in Gumball at Cartoon Network and is now a story artist for a Netflix show. I really enjoyed talking to her and she answered all of my questions on top of giving really good advice. She was really nice and I am fan of her work now! It was definitely helpful to reach out to people who have work experience.
