I swear I didn't want to write these words out of shame and embarrassment, but what happened to us in the Gaza Strip—the destruction, the genocide, the starvation of the people—is beyond imagination. My older brother, who was our provider, was killed by a treacherous bullet to the head. He was our only support, the one who provided us with food, and now we go to bed hungry, ravaged by the hunger that has consumed our bodies.

A few months later, my mother died from cancer that ravaged her body. We couldn't find her any treatment, medicine, food, or clean water until she passed away from the intense pain and hunger.

If sixteen students were killed in their dormitories as they slept, or, more terrifyingly, stayed up watching movies, doomscrolling, studying for a test, reading books, by a shooter in the United States we’d be talking about it for weeks, but sixteen students, and that is the number as of right now, five are still trapped under the rubble and many are in hospital with serious injuries, can be killed in their dormitory by a Ukrainian drone in Lugansk and no one cares at all… right… okay…

BTW Ukraine just exhumed famous Nazi collaborator and fascist Ukrainian nationalist Andriy Atanasovych Melnyk and his wife to ceremonially re-bury them in the National Military Memorial Cemetery with Zelensky calling them “iconic Ukrainians of the twentieth century who are deeply respected.” But no Nazis in Ukraine, Ukraine is defending European civilisation, we have to defend Ukraine from the evil authoritarian Russia by giving them billions in lethal aid, right?
