I’m just gonna rant about Johnny cade ok? Ok
- I think it’s interesting that Johnny likes the sunrise over sunsets while Ponyboy prefers sunsets over sunrises. I’m not very smart enough to find like the poetry in that but yk
To me, Ponyboy sees the sun as blaring and blinding. It’s embarrassing to be in the sun’s ray, and to be put in the spot like that. But sunsets? The calm, gentle night will always be there for him. He can hide and finally rest.
Johnny? I think he sees the night as more ominous thing. The darkness that overtakes him, and when the sunrise comes, it shows that the bad will always end. There’s always light, and it’ll continue to shine for him.
- I don’t think Johnny likes or dislikes animals. I think animals like him, but he’s kinda scared of them. Scared to hurt them, or scared of being hurt.
But I don’t think he would irrationally chase an animal away, even if he thinks about it. I think he’ll let it come by him, and sometimes pet it if he thinks it’s friendly enough. But most of the times, he leaves it alone.
- I’ve said this before, but he has fucked up teeth. Like, he doesn’t brush regularly and as well as his not so good diet, it makes for a lousy set of teeth. I think his mouth is pretty small and his teeth get over crowded.
I think sometimes he has thoughts about all his teeth rotting and falling off, and I think he constantly tries to check for cavities in the public bathrooms. I think he knows how bad in shape they are and feels shameful over them
- I think Johnny is extremely careful on the phone whenever he uses it, he feels like he’ll always do the wrong thing with it. Like call someone he shouldn’t, or break the buttons (illogical, he knows) and it really freaks him out. I think he always repeats the numbers again and again, and then finally when he presses the buttons it’s firm but gentle.
- his hair is greasy, but not from hair grease. I also think he has really bad dandruff, I don’t know if he would have fungal dandruff or just the white ones, maybe both is that’s possible.
I think unconsciously he always tries to wear lighter clothes, so his dandruff is less visible, but you know. He doesn’t have many options to choose from
- Not good at P.E at all. Especially team sports, like soccer, football (only at P.E), and basketball. He’s mediocre at best and completely useless at worst. He kinda just awkwardly stands there and follows the crowd around so he looks like he’s doing something.
He might be good at jogging? Maybe? But with how much he smokes, that might be debatable.
- I think his favorite snack would be cheese and crackers, I have no big paragraph to explain this one
- he’s desi, his family are immigrants.
- I don’t think Johnny cares much for music, yes he does think that the Beatles haircuts look funny, and he does like Elvis, but he wouldn’t put on music himself.
