What it means to be human

(A blellow/guns and roses fic by me)

Being a human is weird. 

Especially when you've spent so long being a flower. 

It's not the limbs you have to get used to, that comes naturally, almost as if you've been doing it your whole life. No, it's the feelings. 

And gosh are there so many feelings. 

It's a little overwhelming. 

Yellow isn't really good at understanding feelings. He can't put into words how a feeling makes him, well… feel. There's so many different human emotions and he's experiencing them all one at a time, but truly understanding them isn't something he thinks he can ever do.

It's good that he has Blue there to help him understand them. Blue has such a way with words, such a deep understanding of feelings that it makes Yellow feel embarrassed sometimes. How Blue can just summarise how he feels in such a poetic manner, how he always knows just what to say to make Yellow feel better. He's truly lucky to have him. 

Yellow tries his best to do what he can for Blue, to help look after and care for the things he loves the most. His flowers are his prized possession, Yellow would rather die before letting anyone ruin them!

Blue forgives him when he ruins his flowers, whispers sweet words into his ear, tells him he's worth more than any flower. Yellow blushes, feels embarrassment and love and overwhelming joy curdle in his stomach. He thinks what more can he do for Blue, to make him worth his love. 

Blue seems to know what he's thinking, he always does. He leans his forehead against Yellows, their noses touching as he brushes his lips against his lovers. 

“You silly man, you don't need to earn my love. All the love I have, the love that blossoms more each day, it's all for you, Yellow.” Blue caresses his cheek, peppering light butterfly kisses across his face. 

Yellow never knows what to say, never knows how to respond to such beautiful words that have been given to him like a gift. He takes a deep breath, wraps his arms around the beautiful man he calls his lover, his other half. 

“I love ya, Blue. I'm sure lucky to have a pardner as amazin’ as you.” It's not much, heck is barely anything. But still, it makes Blue's cheeks go dark, his face go soft. It makes him smile and sigh with such love in his voice. 

“Oh Yellow, I'm the lucky one.” He whispers, tightening his grip around Yellow. “I love you, too, my dearest.”

And suddenly understanding feelings doesn't feel necessary. Not when he has Blue in his life, loving him so freely. 

Yellow thinks he might just understand what love is. 

Unconditional, ever blossoming, home.
