An Apple All Day - Getting over my vlogging fears

3rd episode in my hunt for the perfect place to start my dive school. My sister Sarah has come to join in the adventure and to help film!

Finally managed to find internet good enough to upload my first travel vlog! This follows my first day in Panama City through the beautiful streets of Casco Viejo.

Australia has officially made me soft.

Buy a SIM card in the mall and as I’m walking out the ladies shout out, “come back!”. 

They then proceed to tell me that my wallet is hanging out my back pocket and it should be in a body pocket, my camera is on display, that I shouldn’t have my watch on and that I’ll be a target the second I head out the door.

Casco Viejo dates back to 1673 and is the most historic part of Panama City. Walking through it’s streets overloads the senses with extremes on every corner. 

Almost everywhere you look you are greeted with vibrant graffiti depicting colour-rich themes such as indigenous images, dance and political messages

Passing by the hotels in between seem to increase in opulence as I walk, and yet so does the poverty. 

On every street there is a building left to ruin and the alleyways expose people sleeping under home made shelters made of pallets. I met one man sleeping in such a place, originally from Cuba. With a wave to call me closer, he tells me that Panama is the greatest City on earth - funny to hear that when it would seem it has dealt him a poor hand.
