I'm not really understanding. If they use "mutt" for themselves to mean a mixed breed dog because they're a dog therian/alterhuman... I don't really see the problem? I'm not really sure if it's an english thing, but are slurs illegal to use or something? I thought that slurs were used like insults? Like, it's the same as insults but sometimes have racial or homophobic connotations or something?

Is it illegal to use slurs? Is it not the same as insulting someone? (obv that's bad too but... not that serious)

As for the racism, many of us don't have to research it. Being born a person of colour often gives you an inherent understanding of /what/ racism is. Even if it doesn't cover /why/. Individuals who have been raised to be scared of police officers or other government agents, children who are told by classmates to stay away from them due to their race, being called slurs by other minorities, and being forced to watch as history or culture is stripped from you are all examples of ways people of colour learn racism without having to open a book or get on google.

Inversely, only researching the definition of racism will never teach you in full what racism is. Racism is a lived experience. Being forced to look at slurs against you every day by people who are not reclaiming it, but instead stealing it, erasing it's history and using it to accesorize themself is most definitely enduring a form of racism. Many people of colour have to witness similar, weather it be their slurs, their lingo, their hair, or their clothes.

You are not radmutt, you are not permamutt, you are not bad-mutt-needs-punishing, if you are not mixed race.

Radqueers every day already have to deal with false racism allegations, and bodily mixed individuals have to deal with their unique discrimination being silenced and erased every day. Do not be the radqueer that hurts people of colour and makes all radqueers look worse because you are using racist slurs you can't reclaim.

You may be upset reading this post, and argue that because mutt is also a term used for dogs, those who have dog related identities ought to be allowed to say it. You may feel even further in the belief that because they are both already existing words, straight people And cisgender people should be allowed to use the words "faggot" and "tranny" respectively.

I cannot argue you out of these beliefs, but please understand one thing:

Everyone already knows faggot and tranny to be slurs, most people who refer to a transmission as a tranny are very quickly educated. PLEASE understand that mixed people do not get the same grace when it comes to slurs against them. Mixed people are teased, and mocked, and ignored for expressing discomfort in hearing a word against them.

You don't fight a trans woman for being uncomfortable or upset by hearing someone repeatedly call a transmission a tranny, but many individuals do argue with mixed people for being upset with monoracial people for taking and using on themselves slurs that are not theirs to say. It is erasure.

Also, consider the connotation of the word. If you are not willing to use one of the many other words which mean dog, a large part of why is the connotation. Mutt is a little dark. It's a little dangerous, it fits it with your graveyard aesthetic and your grave/it/xite/bite/thing pronouns in that "dog baring it's teeth" kind of way (and again, this is at no shade to this grouping of pronouns, but I very often see the slur used against me in other groupings of pronouns that look just like this) how do you think it makes a mixed person feel to see the connotation you use this slur in? Is it really any different from always associating black people with chicken and basketball? You're taking a word that is a racial slur and putting a "dark, biting" connotation to it, which you may find super cool, but it's still, technically, a negative connotation.

There are words that mean dog that are not racial slurs. Please. Use them.

Transrace individuals are not trace, diarace, or RCTA individuals. Transrace is a term dedicated to those adopted into a family of another race. A black child adopted into a white family, or vice versa, is transrace if they so choose to label themselves that way. It has nothing to do with transID labels. Your hatefulness has brought you to bring even more hateful words to a community unrelated to the radqueer community that already has to deal with unique struggles relating to being racially a minority.

it takes a unique type of privelege to find a triracial person begging others not throw around slurs that affect them, and instead of furthering the information, choosing to spread, even if you chose for it to be in your words and not mine, that this word is a racial slur that hurts people who were born into this racial minority, you choose to call me, the person trying to stop the spread of a racial slur, racist, and throw adoptees under the bus at the same time.

Trans men are men. Trans men are trans. Trans men experience hardship.

I only cracked my egg because of meeting an open and proud trans dude for the first time and learning no, not everyone does want to be a woman, not every spend their nights wishing they could be a lesbian instead of being a "disgusting straight man" (my internal dialogue about myself pre egg crack.

Trans men are fantastic, and the fact they get to be themselves makes me happy. It upsets me how erased they are in media and books and how upset some people get when they point out trans men exist.

They get shit on from folks on all sides: they're men, so misandrists hate them, they're trans so terfs and transphobes hate them, they're "women" so misogynists hate them. They're often excluded from queer spaces for having "too much privilege", those who are BIPOC, or disabled or some other group that makes people weird just has them double down on them.

Oh and God forbid they don't pass, then they're just "a small bean confused woman" which no. They're a man. I wish there was more trans masc rep. I wish our trans community wasn't so divided because of transandrophobia and transmysoginy.
