Ayva hadnât been in town very long. She moved over in the second half of the last year in a hopes for a more peaceful life, but that sure as hell didnât go to plan as soon after she got here her biggest secret was shared with the world, which had a dent on her reputation. Most people realised she wasnât her father but some didnât care, it was her family.
She was happy for the event as it meant free drinks and dressing up a much needed splurge. She turned to the person next to her with a bright smile, âwant to dance with me love?â She asked with a carefree giggle.
Joey jitters werenât going away any time soon. Not as long as he stayed at the ball. He desperately searched the crowd for a familiar face, but too many of them clouded his vision. He jumped at the sound of a sweet voice from a petite girl beside him, inhaling and exhaling to ease his breathing again. Her dress was gorgeous, and her accent was adorable. How could he say no? âAbsolutely,â he responded with confidence, holding his arm out toward the dance floor. âAfter you, beautiful.â
