I wonder who first taught Ryland how to ride a bike? Colt or Court?

was imagining Ryland trying to learn to ride on court's big ass bike because they couldn't afford a new one.

Ooooh here’s what I’m picturing:

Colt found an old blue bike someone left out on the curb for trash, and Court helped him replace the tire. From there on he was riding his new bike everywhere.

Obviously Ryland was very jealous and wanted to ride a bike too.

First, Colt tried to teach him with his own bike but was unsuccessful and probably made bike riding more scary.

Ryland sulks, Colt gives up and rides off somewhere down the park trail.

Court manages to coax Ryland back into learning how to ride. (I love the idea of him having to use Court’s bike!)

As soon as Ryland finally gets the hang of it, he swerves to avoid hitting a toad and ends up in a pond.

lil self-reflection

Honestly, I was wary of watching PHM at first. Context: I saw that it included an alien that was spider-shaped, and I have arachnophobia.

A phobia is severe when it disrupts your daily life. One way it can do this is through fear generalization.

Fear generalization is when a fear jumps from something specific to a whole lot of other related things. So spiders -> bugs with legs -> anything with vaguely spider-like legs.

But I think that the fact that I was able to watch and enjoy PHM and love Rocky as a character shows how much I’ve grown. I still have arachnophobia, but it’s no longer controlling my life to the same extent. Because old me wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the movie in the same way.

i was watching malcolm in the middle and suddenly got possessed by the mental image of bruce wayne having the exact same parenting instincts as hal. specifically, the kind of parenting instincts that lead to outsourcing accountability and bribing your kids to take the fall for whatever stupid crime you committed against alfred. tim making questionable negotiations also seems like a very so-smart-he-reverted-back-to-stupid kind of tim thing to do

anyways, this was such a silly joke and bruce and the bat sons are just silly blobs

If I ended up in the backrooms, I’d manage to get lost in the next room over from the exit.

I think the entities would feel bad for me.

Maybe the backrooms itself would feel bad too, and it’d try to give me warped exit signs.

I wouldn’t listen to the signs, of course, why would I trust random signs?

But I would interpret the signs as: these weren’t here before, so therefore I must be in completely new territory (despite not having moved from the ball I was curled up in for the past two hours).
