Finally got around to shooting my favorite couple! Cheers to my best friends, so happy at how beautiful these photos ended up (and how awesome they look!).

Shot in the January cold at Millennium Park. Really fun shoot with a pretty and talented friend.
Edited with VSCO Film 06 in Lightroom 5.
Finally posting some photos from last summer’s Upper Peninsula road trip.
Amazing views, with around 30 miles hiked over 2 days.
Photos from Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Falls.

Here’s a wonderful post-wedding shoot I did during the summer. Better late to post, than never.
Absolutely loved the contrast of her dress on the green backdrop with the sun in the early stages of setting, giving me a great flare. Photos captured with a Sony a57 using 50mm 1.8 and 14mm 2.8 glass.
Processed with Aperture 3 using VSCO Film 01.

Prom
Shooting prom photos for this couple was not only incredible, but yielded one of my favorite set of portraits ever.
A perfect June day for photos, the light and location was optimal. I couldn’t be happier with the photos.
Photos captured with a Sony a57 with 50mm 1.8. Processed using VSCO Film 06 in Lightroom 5.
Hey everyone! VSCO Film 07 came out yesterday, and I had to see what’s up. The example photos VSCO had were pretty awesome, very cool feel to some of them. A few other photographers got short previews up, and they were likewise nicely processed.
VSCO 07 is definitely a more subtle film pack. Changes don’t really pop and aren’t very obvious. Yet, this film pack does a remarkable job of emulating film tones and pleasing the eye.
Film 07 has a ton of presets, many of which I can’t say I found the best uses for yet, but there is without a doubt a palette of presets I will find myself applying often. This pack is rather expansive, with a large variety of presets, both B&W and color, allowing for many applications and tonal results. There aren’t many examples of Film 07 online yet, so here are a few Before & Afters for anyone who is thinking about purchasing VSCO Film 07.
1st After: S - Agfa Optima 100 II Warm 2nd After: S - Agfa RSX 200 II Warm 3rd After: S - Ilford Pan F Plus 50 + 4th After: S - Kodak Elite 50 II ++
I haven’t posted anything in so long, it’s time to post the backlog of photography! Back in November (I know, that’s a while back) I had the honor of shooting some “save the date” photos for this beautiful couple. We had a blast getting some incredible shots at the lakeshore with downtown as our backdrop. These are the first photos I’ve used VSCO Film 06 with, and had to switchover to Lightroom for this, which was new (didn’t take too long to learn) but no problem. All photos processed in Lightroom 5 using VSCO Film 06. Shot on a Sony a57 with a 50mm 1.8 lens.
Trip to the Northwoods
After what seems like an eternity long hiatus, I’ve come to the realization I need to post the backlog of photography from the past year. First on that list would be last winter’s trip to the Wisconsin Northwoods. That magical trip, from nearly a year ago, somehow never found it’s way onto this blog.
Our Airbnb discovered cabin was nothing short of amazing. On a small frozen lake, a bit off the road into the forests, it glowed amongst the untouched and snow covered trees. The night we arrived, it snowed around 2 feet of fresh pow. The next two days were mainly snowboarding up an hour north of the cabin at Whitecap Mtn. The trip ended with a snowmobiling trip through the forests. -5 degrees with something like -15 windshield, I highly recommend avoiding doing the same. Despite the frigid ride, the white landscape was a beautiful sight. ‘
First photo taken on iPad + VSCOCAM. The photoset was taken on a Sony a57 and edited with VSCO Film 01.
Devil's Lake
Two weeks back I and some dudes hauled over to Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin. I was completely ignorant of this beautiful place, so close to home, and seems like someplace I would find in Colorado. Simply majestic views, especially in Autumn. My brother's buddy took us all over the weekend, rented a super nice cottage for the night and introduced us to rock climbing. Pretty crazy cliff's to be found at Devil's Lake and a very hot location for climbers. Rock climbing, everything included within it, the views, the equipment, the hikes, the exploration, are some of the best feelings one can experience. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Warren Dunes - Part 4
Probably a few of my favorite photos I have ever taken. The weather was spectacular and the lighting was so awesome. Some of these photos really depict the majestic nature of Warren Dunes. Can't wait to go back! The End
All photos were processed in Aperture 3 using VSCO Film 01 & 02. Shot using the Rokinon 14mm 2.8 lens.
Warren Dunes - Part 3
Finally a continuation of my adventures in Warren Dunes State Park!

Warren Dunes - Part 2
Here is a continuation of my day at Warren Dunes State Park. I waded through a creek, found a super picturesque and tranquil place to chill a bit there. I sat on the banks of the small creek and enjoyed the light falling onto the lush greens.

Warren Dunes - Part 1
Last month, I went on a short trip to Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan. I've been there a few times in the past, and it is one of my favorite short trips to go on. An incredibly serene, simply awesome place to visit, enjoy and relax at. The beach is nice, the dunes are incredible, and there are so many interested nooks and seemingly undiscovered places to explore. If anybody is nearby, I highly recommend visiting. Here's part one of the trip, definitely only a fraction of the photos I shot and edited.

My brother got married this week (some related photos coming soon), so the week prior the best man and I put together a great bachelor road trip to Wisconsin Dells. Didn't have my camera with me for paintballing or speedboating (tubing, waterskiing) so these photos barely capture the fun. One of the best weekends I've ever had. We had some great people, stayed at a great place and did some super chill things.
Can't wait for the next trip up to the Dells.
All photos processed in Aperture 3 using VSCO Film 01 (side note: maybe one photo using 02, but loving Film 01 since I got it!)

So happy to see that my garden has been blessed with an incredible amount of strawberries this year! They just can't stop blossoming and growing. Four bowls of strawberries within two weeks, a lot more than last year's harvest. Seriously, strawberry plants turn out to be great investments. Buy a few squares meters worth of plants, and you'll have a lot of strawberries for years to come. You'd probably save money and eat healthier when you grow your own. There's something really fun about shooting photos of strawberries. The fusion of red and green... the whole organic, natural feel to it is fun to capture.
Enjoy!
All photos were shot on a Sony a57 using a 50mm 1.8. All photos processed in Aperture 3 using VSCO Film 02.
A few months ago I shot photos of a small birthday party. The couple was celebrating their son’s first birthday. I haven’t posted in quite a while, but finally found time to put these photos up!
Enjoy! All photos shot with a Sony a57 using a Sony 50mm 1.8 lens and Rokinon 14mm 2.8 lens. The HVL-f58 flash was used for only one or two of the indoor photos. All photos processed in Aperture 3 using VSCO Film 02.
