It is okay to go out of your way or anyone else's to do something that makes you happy.
the sky is clear but it won't stop raining.

I guess this poem mostly has to do with OCD and intrusive thoughts. The way that my mind has a way of turning reality in to something I fear - sort of like an illusion. A flight of stairs might seem like an ordinary aspect of a household, but to me, it's the conception that i may have to walk up and down it hundreds of times, each step an acceptable or comforting thought on my mind. But if one mistake in my head crosses even for a moment, my reaction will perpetuate the spiral of thinking. Up and down the steps again. Seemingly finite, but endless to me. I want to immerse myself in the bliss of outside and the sunshine of day, but the fear of rain will prevent my chance of happiness. But it's okay, I'm starting to get there. The forecast isn't right everyday, and even when it is, I know that I cannot control the weather. An umbrella is all it will take to have a good day.
your tears are the foundations of blossoming gardens
rooted in the pain, but blooming in to life
i cannot grasp at how beautiful that you really are, and what you've made of this, and how much you are growing. ~ all it takes is a seedling of hope.
Here’s all of my favourite photos organized in to one little thing for ya;)

considering that my seventeenth birthday is in a few days - one more year until i'm an adult really - i question what I've come this far to do. i want to travel and see every corner of the earth, i want to help those in need, i want to all in all just live. I need to create stories worthy of telling. whether it be sharing to my kids intimately how I climbed a fjord in northern tibet to capture an award-winning photograph of an endangered snow leopard, or making a speech to millions of different people on how mental health makes the biggest enemy in life yourself. but although I know it's all possible, that's not the way life works. I can't have a vision i work towards just to end up in a polar destination then what I hoped for. and that doesn't even incorporate the fears and falls you inevitably have to face. if it's going to be an adventure it's going to be spontaneous and unexpected. it's going to hurt but it's going to heal. and in the end, if there is ever one - I know that the intention of creating better change is just as extraordinary as the outcome.
i remember nights crying to myself and thinking that I would never see you again. a year later, here we are. I love you so much❣️ november 25th 2017

I want a cottage with a stream behind it and a forest that goes for miles on and deer are seen peeking out from the branches. Tea is brewing and my garden’s flowers are blooming. I am at peace with the world and full of kindness.

A quick story about kindness
Yesterday as I was leaving the subway and was just about to go down the escalator, a shopping bag (that had new SOCKSKS and a gift for my best friend) fell out of my backpack, due to my hyper clumsiness. Of course I didn't notice.
As went down the escalator I heard a person shouting "sir! sir! you dropped something!". I turned around and saw him holding my shopping bag, and he had an expression on his face said he was determined to return it. I hilariously and embarrassingly ran up the MOVING escalator (kinda like that elf in the final scene of the hobbit) to this beautiful kind stranger.
He had a smile that almost pushed his cheeks off his face as he gave it to me. I couldn't stop saying "thank you so very much!" and "I knew it would fall out, haha!". He said is 'no problems' and I pivoted, then walked back to the escalator.
As I descended down the perpetually moving staircase, I quickly peered at this compassionate person I briefly encountered. To my surprise, he was looking back at me still. It was if he wouldn't stop smiling, as if he was so proud of himself for doing a simple good deed, for making my day, happy, and realizing there is still some bits of good in the world. It warmed my heart more than I could imagine an 8:30 pm scene at Yorkdale Subway Station could.
I started to think. We were just two strangers, two inhabitants of the earth. We didn't know anything about each other, about how our day went, about our opinions and political views, how much money we had left to feed ourselves, if we had planned on killing ourselves sometime soon. But he noticed me, he saw an opportunity to omit some positivity back in to the universe, and was just simply kind. As I was moving faster and faster down the escalator, I acted quickly. I just gave a friendly wave, and he waved back, as if his smile couldn't grow any bigger. All of the sudden, like I was taking part in a sad part of a movie, he disappeared out of sight. We aren't ever going so see each other again, but we are for sure going to remember each other for a long time.
And this is the simple answer to all life's problems, kindness. It heals all wounds and is the key to love. I've always been a person who loves kindness and uses it everyday, but have never been so aware of the impacts until now. Thank you stranger, sending much love to you.
