"We're Nirvana and we're not from Glasgow, Scotland!" -Krist Novoselic (at Le Zenith)
On June 24th, 1992, Nirvana played Le Zenith for the rescheduled portion of their Nevermind European tour. There really isn't anything notable about this show lmao
"Kurdt is well suited to the role of upcoming popstar. He combines a disturbing presence, half Charlie Manson's unblinking intensity, half childish innocence, With limitless enthusiasm and an intense sense of purpose." (Sounds magazine on Kurt Cobain, 1990)
April 27th, 1990 - Nirvana play at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Krist shaved his head due to a terrible show in New York the previous evening

Magazine covers after the death of Kurt Cobain was announced
"I guess signing with a major sort of goes against the whole punk-rock ideals. The funny thing is, during the time we were talking to seven or eight majors, we were also toying with the idea of just putting the record out ourselves." (Kurt on signing with DGC)
On March 30th, 1991, Nirvana did their first photoshoot for DGC with photographer Chris Cuffaro. Photos from this shoot were widely used at the time as promotional photos of the band, and still are widely used today.

"There's nothing to be said! It's all in the music, man! It's all in the music! It's all in the meat!" -Kurt Cobain (with MuchMusic on September 20th, 1991)
Happy birthday, Kurt. Hope you found your true Nirvana.

"Kids, don't do drugs, stop the madness" -Kurt Cobain (at Club Citta, February 17th, 1992)
On February 17th, 1992, Nirvana played their 3rd of 4 shows in Japan at Club Citta. This show remained unsurfaced until it was released on the bootleg boxset "Live In Japan".
All the Japan shows are pretty mid for Nirvana standards. Kurt's voice sounds tired (maybe that's why he's playing in his pajamas) and doesn't seem to be putting in as much energy as he did earlier in the tour. Although, Krist and Dave have fun later in the show calling each other cheesy nicknames, which is nice
"When I'm in diarrhoea de Janeiro, I like to have the freshly cut dried leaves of a palm tree" -Kurt Cobain (In Rio de Janeiro on January 23rd, 1993)
36 years ago today, Nirvana play a second show for the "Hollywood Rock Music Festival". Which features a crazy, crazy version of "Scentless Apprentice" and Kurt dressing up like the prettiest prom queen you ever seen.
This show is sometimes referred to as the worst Nirvana show of all time. Which, I don't know if that's true. It's definitely not the best show they've ever done. But, there's no other show like it.
A little bit obsessed with Kurt lately, so I drew some sketches of him. Hope you enjoy it !!

Review of their infamous March 28th, 1994 show at the AT&T Amphitheather in Florida where hundreds, if not thousands, of fans ripped down the gates to get into the sold out venue.
The photos aren't from the show, which I'm sure you could tell but, yeah. Good read, fun read
"This is the last show of our tour, so we can do whatever the fuck we want!" -Krist Novoselic (at London Astoria)

"Hello, we're one of the three official representatives of the Seattle Sub Pop scene, from Washington state" -Kurt Cobain (at the London Astoria)

"The food is for nourishment... eat the food!" -Kurt Cobain (Live at the Bloom - 11/17/91)
On November 17th, 1991, Nirvana played at the Bloom in Mezzago, Italy! Before the show started, Kurt was throwing fruits into the crowd. This show was recorded and bootlegged onto the CD "Europe 1991"
"So, how does it sound way in the back? Looks like it sounds like shit." -Kurt Cobain (at the New York Coliseum, 1993)
On November 14th, 1993, Nirvana played at the New York Coliseum. At the end of the show, music journalist Everett True came on stage and played his only Sub Pop single, "Do Nuts".

"I'm the life of the party! If there was a lampshade out there, I'd probably put it on my head!" - Krist Novoselic
On November 4th, 1991, Nirvana played their first European show of the Nevermind tour at Bierkeller, in the United Kingdom!
