Starting up with a few old Noob Spy doodles!

This one here was supposed to be them for a Steven Universe AU

Here's some old JJ art too! This was when I first made him!

I like looking back at these to see how much my art style has changed and improved over the years. I will always have a place in my heart for these silly guys :)

Polite Spy had stopped in the doorway of the resupply room, having planned to take a seat at the bench as he usually does. This time was different, though. On the floor laid what appeared to be a beheaded scout.

He had never seen this Scout before, at least not one who was still alive while beheaded.

“Why hello there, my bodyless friend! It is a surprise to see you.”

He walks over to the head, before crouching down so that he was more at his level.

"My body?"

He glances down to where his shoulders are supposed to be.

"Oh. OHHH. Yeah! That--!" He laughs for a moment. "It's a funny story, really! I was out on the field, tunin' my banjo, and suddenly this Demoman comes along! He's flailing around like a fish outta water in the summer! Anyways, as he comes by, he trips over his own feet and ends up fallin' a couple inches away from me. And he lays there, not makin' a sound, for like... five minutes! Eventually, I go to poke him-- see if he's awake, ya know? But when I do, he shoots up and starts screaming! And then--uh..."

The Scout pauses for a moment.

"I think there was a loud BOOM. Everything after that is kinda blurry. But long story short, I'm pretty sure the Demo (I think his name was...Soup? Soupman? Something with soup...) stuffed the rest of me in a soup can! It's all kinda funny when you think about it!"

He giggles.

He lowered himself onto the floor, sitting right next to the Scout head.

“You my friend can call me Polite Spy. Or Polite for short if you would like.“

He can't help but laugh at his own cheesy pun.

"Hah! Who am I kidding? I can't turn down a good song! You don't need hands to--"

He trails off. He glances around. His wide grin falters only slightly as a realization hits him.

"Wuh-oh. Uhhh. Hahaha--Ohh."

He mumbles to himself for a moment. He looks at Polite Spy, smiling awkwardly (which doesn't look much different than his regular grin).

HELP REQUESTED!

Polite immediately sprung into action, scooping JJ off of the floor before he stood up straight, lifting JJ so that he was at face level. He simply waited there, as if he was waiting for some sort of command or instruction.

JJ'S BACKPACK QUEST

"During that whole situation with, uhh--Soupcan? That's what his name is? Yeah, during the whole thing with Soupcan, I think I lost my backpack. It's where I keep all my precious instruments! It might have been still connected to my body--wherever that might be now. If you see it, could you bring it back to me? It would mean the WORLD to me! And--Oh! If you were to bring it to me, I would only ask for you to be really, really... really really REALLY careful with it. I mean, it only holds each and every one of my perfect--Ahaha--!"

"Actually--You know what? Why don't you just let me know where it is when you find it? I can go and get it myself later which would honestly be a LOT easier than---Uh---"

JJ stares up at Polite Spy. He chuckles a bit.

"Hey! You there, buddy? You uh--haven't blinked a single time since I started talkin'. You want me to right it down? I can totally that! Writin' with your mouth is a lot easier than people think---"

He's just rambling at this point.

HE ACCEPTS!

Before JJ could say anything else Polite had placed him onto the bench of the resupply room and was running out of there at full speed, his mind filled with nothing but determination to return JJ’s backpack to its rightful owner.

About an entire hour later, there was the round of footsteps coming from outside of the resupply room. The doors of the room swiftly open the moment the sensors had sensed someone coming through.

It was Polite Spy!

In his hands he held an entire body which looked like it had a backpack attached to it. Hey, that’s JJ’s body!

It seems as if he went out of his way to retrieve his body alongside the backpack. How considerate of him!

Polite made his way over to JJ’s head before he picked it up and snapped it back onto its body, taking out a roll of bandages and wrapping it around the neck wound before tying it up.

It wasn't until he felt someone wrapping a bandage around his neck that he snapped back to reality.

"Say wha--? Oh! Hey! It's you! Nice Spy--wait, no--Polite Spy!"

He scratched his neck, only to be surprised by his fingers making contact with the white fabric.

Wait. His fingers. His fingers!

JJ glanced down. His head was back on his body! He excitedly jumped to his feet, nearly losing his balance.

"Cheese and rice! You actually found the rest of me! I mean-- you didn't have to out of your way since I can easily--"

HOLD UP. If Polite was able to recover his body, that means--

JJ let out an exaggerated gasp as swung his backpack off his shoulders.

"JANET!"

He quickly looked over the bag, making sure that it didn't have a single rip or scratch. He glanced inside, making sure all his instruments and music were there. He laughed giddily, hugging the backpack close.

“I have brought a gift for you while I was gone, my friend.”

He reached into his back pocket only to pull out what appeared to be a harmonica. He handed it over to JJ with a smile.

What's wrong?

Did he not like it?

Then, after a long moment of silence, he spoke. Polite almost didn't hear him. His voice was a lot quieter, nothing like his usual eccentric self.

"...No one has ever...gifted me an instrument..."

"...I already have a harmonica, but this..."

"...This is too...Why are you...being so..."

He trailed off. His clasped his hands around the harmonica, holding it to his chest. He looked down. Then he started to laugh. Almost maniacally. Yet there was undeniably something emotional in his voice.

JJ grinned up at Polite Spy, somehow even wider than normal. He rushed forward and lifted Polite into a bone crushing hug.

That isn't an exaggeration. Yeesh, how is this guy so strong? Wait, what was that sound? Did something just pop?

"I love-love-love-LOVE IT! Thanks a gazillion, pally! This is about the nicest thing something has done for me since...EVER! I'll treasure it forever and ever and ever andeverand--!"

QUEST COMPLETE!
