Since you asked in tags for opinions, I will offer mine:
I haven’t seen any commentary at all, so I don’t know precisely the kind of stuff you’re talking about here. But there’s a very wide spectrum of behavior that gets called “sexualizing” on the internet these days. Making sexual comments, a long thread focused on someone’s looks, that kind of thing -- yeah, that’s worth side-eyeing. If it’s just an offhand comment of someone who’s seeing him for the first time saying “wow, he’s a cutie,” it is probably not worth being upset over.
I’ve seen both sides of this personally; while I haven’t seen any of the conversations about Wya in particular, I’ve definitely seen fans get over the top and creepy about their attraction to players.
However, I’ve also been personally called a creep and a pedophile (yes, really) for being 34 and saying offhand that I thought a 21 or 22 year old player was good looking. Western society loathes women over 30, and we’re frequently shamed for expressing any kind of passion or feeling that differentiates us from nuns or grandmothers.
So yes, in general, I think it’s understandable to be creeped out by people going over the top with it. And if someone of any age says anything to you that you’re uncomfortable with, you’re 100% in the right to tell them to knock it off, no matter what. But coming from someone who has personally faced some ageist bullshit, please double check to make sure you’re not being influenced by our cultural crap about older women.
