i find it difficult to believe that they know enough about him to actively listen to his music, attend his concert and interact with him publicly, but somehow know nothing about the things that have been publicly associated with his name for years. i don’t think being korean has anything to do with whether they could have heard about it. this is information that exists everywhere, and they’re some of the most famous people in the world. BTS have spent years talking about self-worth, loving yourself, respecting yourself and becoming comfortable with who you are. they’ve built a huge connection with women in particular, including women who have experienced abuse and found some sense of comfort or safety in their music. so when they repeatedly associate themselves with people or companies that make those same fans uncomfortable, i don’t think it’s unreasonable for there to be emotional conflict there.
