ON TRAUMA: confession & repentance.
Forgive me, God, for the trauma I inflicted these past two days.
Forgive me for tying a grown man down, for forcing a plastic tube in his mouth, for restraining his hands, for moving his body against his will. Forgive me for the tube in his rectum, the too-bright light in his eyes, the ice against his swollen body.
Forgive me the trauma done against this sweet man - this boy who drank himself to death's doorstep, who teeters on its precipice and who tumbles over the cliff with the barest breath in the wrong direction.
