the layers of misunderstanding in play which only deepen their rift....hans truly is afraid of their escape route, and all jindra can see is that he's being forced to abandon his plan and go against his morals and harm or kill innocent people AND increase the risk to himself over continued selfishness. hans meanwhile isn't being listened to or in control, both things he cannot handle, and his outburst reinforces the lord-servant role they've been fitted into.

in the end they both lose the only acceptable friend their status has allowed thus far.
