TFW Too Many Conlangs

As Lõneđi is meant to be a vaguely European-looking language, I made the number system reflect that. A few notes:

-Numeral system is decimal, but historically base-12 (as seen in the words for 11, 12, and 24.) -Uses a positional notation system - each digit to the left is ten times the one to its right. -Quick note on the pronunciation of breg-katte (80): while it’s still spelt as if pronounced [bɾɛɡkatːɛ], a native speaker would pronounce it [bɾɛkːatːɛ] (something like brekkatte).

I’ll probably make another table for numbers since I’m still working out sound changes for some of them.

Also, ordinal numbers:

1: arsi 2: emsi 3:  śosi 4: lalos 5: lëates 6: lõles 7: kurlunes 8: breges 9: kuluskus 10: kattes 11: uttes 12: ainsi

So I’ve already talked a bit about Sumii’s system in the Sign Language video: Sumii uses an octal rather than decimal system; they have 5 fingers per hand, but the thumbs are used differently so that one can count up to 32 (octal 40) on the hands. Numbers are written like so (octal numbers are in parentheses):

Let’s break this down:

-0-8 are pretty straightforward. Note that 0 is only used as a numeral on its own; it is not used as a digit in larger numbers. I suppose an in-universe explanation is that the writing system was made before the discovery of 0 as a number :P -Multiples of 8, 64, 512, and 4096 use a small horizontal line to indicate how many. More than 4x, and another numeral is written to the right, connected with a tie bar. -Each digit to the left indicates a higher multiple of 8.

Sumii: This one was my first, and has been a work in progress for over a decade now! While originally it was just me experimenting with making a language, I eventually made a conworld to go along with it. Sumii is spoken by a race of aliens inhabiting the (actually real) planet Gliese 667 Cc (Earth name Cybele, Sumii name Samit). It is more or less synthetic, with nominative-accusative alignment and strict SOV word order. Other notable traits: octal number system, writing system structurally similar to Korean, and five (four marked) tenses.

Sumii Sign Language: As you can guess, a sign language used by the same people as spoken Sumii. In-universe it developed as a trade language, as there are multiple dialects of Sumii, some of which are not mutually intelligible. Of course, it was quickly picked up as a language for the deaf. I haven’t worked on this one much so the structure is pretty undeveloped, but its grammar will be somewhat based off of Sumii.

Lõneđi: A language to go along with my Generic Medieval Fantasy World™. Like Sumii it uses nom-acc alignment and is synthetic, though fusional rather than agglutinative. It also lacks adpositions in favor of a massive case system (which I’m cutting off at 17 because jesus christ that’s a lot). Other notable traits: masculine/feminine gender, word order can be SVO or VSO though less strict in poetic usage.

Kama Kurē/Kren: Spoken by the people of the island nation of Kurē, in the same world as Lõneđi. I’ve pretty much only worked on the phonology of this one, which I kind of based off of Japanese and various Polynesian languages. I have decided this one will be analytic and word order is SOV though.
