juliana took a second to look at the other. she could tell that the female was older than her, and the cane definitely added to it. she leaned back a little bit, her eyes on the television screen for a split second before she realized what she was doing. looking back at the female, she politely smiled. “ no, i insist! consider it a… generous christmas treat! ” she nodded her head. she also desperately needed some sort of distraction from reality, because everything was throwing her for a loop right now. was it too late to schedule another girls night out with jasmine before juliana leaves to go home for the holidays? “ besides, i have some money to blow. ” the perks of a trust fund. she reached into her purse, pulling out her wallet and sliding the barista her card, moving to the side so that the female could place her order in.
Jill naturally nodded back. Her somewhat frosty demeanor was sometimes offputting but she didn’t mean anything by it. She knew better than to argue with someone trying to do a nice deed for her, uness it had been Jesse, then she would fight it. Her problem was that she hated people telling her she was wrong, especially when she already knew it. Despite a hard exterior, her sensitive nature was there and was nearly always covered up with either humor or an off-hand comment that would most likely get her into further trouble. Jillian had been labelled as unconventional when she had been practising but she had never given it much thought until now. Perhaps she had been her own worst enemy, perhaps she still was. “That’s kind of you, thank you.” A Latte would be fine for her. It was nice of the younger woman to offer but she was naturally suspicious, or intrigued, as to why the other seemed to want to go through with it. “So, are you always in here giving out generous christmas treats?” The woman phrased, without anedotes as it would come across as rather condescending. “I appreciate it, nonetheless.” It had always been a contentious time and now that Jesse had disappeared off the face of the Earth under suspicious circumstances, it was harder.
