So what compels him to let one cocky and peculiar traveller inside his sanctuary? His opposite in so many aspects. As opposite as science opposes myths.

Unless there’s more than meets the eye. And meeting this traveller is exactly what Jimin needs.

“Enjoying the last moments of warmth, are we?” He smiled, carefully stroking the cat’s head, then gently scratching under his chin. He softly chuckled when he felt, more than heard, the cat purring under his palm. He must have been young, bold enough to venture around here, like he owned the place. His ginger fur was a welcome splash of colour in this pallid landscape and a nostalgic warm feeling under Jimin’s hand; even the sun was not as luminous. Blame it on the pollution of the smog hanging over their heads, blurring all the contours and blending the colours together in extraordinarily varied, though unsexy, shades of grey. Even the sea, usually a soft and comforting blue under a glorious sun, looked sickly pale.

A comforting silence settled down, broken only by the soft sound of feet dangling in the water and the ruffle of furry tails lazily wagging behind them. “Can we talk about that ugly snout again now?”

The Finale!

And in the blink of an eye he was thrown into the middle of a casual and warm house-party with his close friends. It was nothing big, nor wild. Any other day, it would have easily passed as a laid-back get together between friends, if not for those huge “Happy Birthday” banners that Taehyung had insisted on pinning to the beams over the doors outside and inside the daeschung, despite Jimin’s protests. At least, he had coaxed him out of the balloons and glittering paper streamers.

“I push people away every given opportunity,” Jimin countered. Some deep sadness was drying his heart out and Jungkook’s voice, palm and gaze were like an oasis in the middle of the desert. He drank every word, leaned in the touch and would willingly drown in his amber orbs.
