What I mean when I do not control the hyperfixation.
Man, imagine being Liara T'soni. You're only 106, only barely an adult in Asari years, and you're doing some routine archeological dig on some nowhere planet. And you suddenly touch the wrong thing and a forcefield traps you in place. And then a human shows up. A beautiful alien space commander from beyond the stars comes to rescue you, with her guns and her muscles. A knight in shining power armor. Yeah I'd fall in love too. I'd follow her anywhere. And when she died, I'd turn to crime to save her. I'd sacrifice anything to bring her back. To see her again. I get it

How it feels to genuinely enjoy the Pitt and not get caught up on every little bad thing a character has done because they’re all complex human beings and none of them are truly evil like everyone in this fandom seems to think

mel doesn’t smoke, tries to avoid caffeine, probably rarely drinks. but i truly believe she needs a vice otherwise she’d go insane. so logically the only option is that she jerks her shit like crazy.

Mel I love you Mel
sometimes i do wonder if mel will be forced into independence because becca wants more of her own, not the other way around. becca who enjoys her time at the facility and the independence it gives her, who wants to break away and make her own friends, and mel who fully rejects this, because they’ve always been the king sisters, becca can’t function without her because she can’t function without becca. mel who might actually need becca more than becca needs her. mel who is terrified of this fact because who is she if she’s not caring for someone else? what worth does she have if she’s not needed?
The concept of Mel being a workaholic because she doesn’t want to think about anything bad in her life. She promises to go home and cry but when she gets home she’s to busy taking care of Becca to let herself feel anything but absolutely positivity before she crashes into bed and gets up to do the same thing the next morning.
The concept of frank being able to read Mel like a book and notice the little differences in the way she’s acting. She’s a tad bit more irritable, more shaky, less likely to yap his ear off. Frank tries not to worry too much because he could just be reading into it, because that’s what he’s doing, reading into it.
The concept of something snapping in Mel during her shift at work, (most likely to losing a patient and someone Snapping at her) and straight up starting to sob in the middle of the nurses station, I’m talking full blown, panic attack sobs that no one can help her with. No one except frank Langdon, who immediately grabs her by the upper arm, and when she melts into his touch, her legs giving out, he keeps her upright as she hides her face into the junction of his neck. And everyone watches in mild horror and shock as he whispers to her that it’s gonna be okay, and she cries back that she’s tired, she doesn’t know why she feels like this, and she feels stupid, to which frank immediately shuts her down and says that it’s okay, she’s allowed to feel tired, the ER does that to you.
The concept of frank taking her home, making her dinner and tucking her into bed, only for her to ask him to stay, just for the night. To which he agrees because it’s mel.

Frank being the first person to actually acknowledge that the deposition must be stressful for Mel, which is something no one else has done, and Mel legitimately doesn't know how to answer it, and immediately shifts back into her caretaker mode, asking about Becca
ooh mel having to come to terms with the fact that, well-intentioned or not, she's infantilising becca is actually such an interesting and necessary plot point to go with given how we've seen mel tie her identity so much into being a sister/caretaker. we saw becca assert her independence in some smaller ways during the last episode, but this was excellent.
